On a
sad note, my friend Adrian Miller lost his 4 year
old son in a tragic accident last week. Those that have
been in the music biz for a long time will know who
Adrian is & him & I go way back to his days dj'ing on
the Tulsa, OK airwaves breaking all my records on
NastyMix. If you know Adrian or just want to reach
out to him from your heart to send cards, letters &
donations, please send it to: Xyion Incorporated
c/o Little AA, 11054 Ventura Blvd., # 335, Studio City,
CA 91604 ; phone # (818) 509. 5997... The
"Brainstorm 3" emcee battle is coming up this November
21-24th in Seattle, WA.. Last years winner was Presence
outta Chicago & the event drew in up to 64 emcees from
around the states. This years event expects to be even
much larger! $2500.00 will be awarded to the winner. For
more info, contact Khazma 247 online at:
MADKREW@HOTMAIL.COM
or at (206) 760-MADK... With the CMJ
coming up in a couple weeks, here's something your
artists may be interested in. Via my AK outta Delaware,
Mike Baxter, here's what's up: " ATTN:
Labels, artists, producers, managers, etc., DJ
LT. Dan is putting together a promotional mix-cd for
all underground artists to distribute at a number of
events and to be mailed out to major labels, writers,
editors, A&R, promotion companies, and companies that
sponsor musicians and labels (for example: Coke,
Pepsi, Xbox, Sony, Microsoft,
Nike, etc). The first major disbursment will be
at the CMJ Conference in NYC on the week of the
22nd. The rate to get a single track or song on the CD
will be $300 for indies, $1,000 for major labels. (This
rate is less than half of most promotional samplers, and
this is sure to get much more impact due to having one
of the top mixtape djs in the business putting it
together and co-signing on it). PLEASE ACT FAST SPACE
IS ALMOST GONE FOR THE FIRST DISC." If you're down

By now, you should've received in your mail the debut
single by Gangsta featuring Ice Cube &
Butch Cassidy "Big Boy's" (Heat Rocs). Don't sleep
on this phat joint. Here's what some of our Rap

some feedback on this one. I'm definitely feelin' it.
The loop is nasty and production is tight. Overall -
real tight. The Big Boy's side makes the record -
definitely. I'm hoping it won't get slept on, though.

this joint is hot. Starts out kinda slow but picks up
really nice. Good to hear Cube on a track"... DJ Solo
(WECI in Richmond, IN): " The Ice Cube record
will be a way for him to re invent himself. it has
quality for college radio"... DJ Buddhabong (Solofhiphop.com):
" West side fo sho... ha.

joint - 1 out of 10 i give it a 6... There's an early
buzz on the new El Gant "No Joke" (Nacirema)
joint. DJ's are feeling this cut from El! You can catch
him live on the mic this Oct. 23rd at our hip-hop
showcase!!!.. Check your mail for the blazin' new album
