What's upper! My favorite new TV show this week is hands
down, VH-1's "Bands Reunited!" If you're a
fan of the 80's music like me, then you'll love this
show. The episodes featuring Flock Of Seagulls,
Berlin,
Romeo Void & Klymaxx are so far the best
as they all haven't seen or performed with each other in
over 15 years. Magically, VH-1's host, Amir finds
every member of these bands & you can see them re-do the
magic they once had live on stage! A few months ago, I
was approached over the phone asking if I was interested
in doing a "Bands Reunited" special with Sir
Mix-A-Lot & I said, "YES." Stay tuned... To my
Rap Attack Reporters, check your mail for the
"Interscope Records Service Sheet." If you want
to be on their mailing list, please fill that out & mail
it asap in the pre-paid postage envelope enclosed...
Last week I also emailed my reporters a similar sheet
from SONY. Please fill that out asap & email it
to:

Sheard is officially back at SONY running their
College & MixShow Radio Dept. and you can reach

Our new Rap Attack Radio Reporter, Matt "F-Sharp"
Feldburg from KSPB wrote me this & I
thought I'd share this with you; " Yo Nes whats up homie?
hope your doin well. Last weekend I went down to the
NAMM show in Anaheim which is the largest audio and
musical instrument trade show in the world. I got to
test out all the new equipment from each company
including Technics CD Turntables, Pioneer
DVD DJ-01, Numark DVD DJ, Pioneer CDJ MK2,
Stanton Allies mixer and more. I can get some
reviews that I've done together for you to post on the
site if you like to let other dj's know what they are
expecting and what price and what not. Also I was
thinkin that as part of Rap Attack we should have
an equipment review where we can recieve shit from
different companies review it on performance and let
other dj's know about it and market it to them. I have a
bunch of contacts with marketing directors @ different
companies like Technics,
Stanton,
Vestax, & Numark. I think they would be
interested because of the # of the DJ's that are
involved with Rap Attack and the significant
amount of hits the site gets. I was also at the Technics
booth & tried to convince the sales rep to give us like
5 pairs of these CD Turntables so each Rap Attack
reporter could use a pair for a week or so and ship it
off to another fellow Rap Attack DJ. It sounds a
bit complicated but he told me to speak with the
Technics marketing director about it. Also its a bummer
I didnt have a camera while I was there too cuz I met up
with Warren G, DJ Jam, J Rocc,
Babu, Roc Raida, and fellow Rap Attack
DJ Truly ODd. So I couldnt send any pictures of
us at the show oh well. Peace! F Sharp (KSPB-CA). Email
your feedback to F Sharp at:

"In
a sense, it's not about breaking barriers. It's about
believing there are none. Every year we come together
for the love of one thing, culture. It is how we exist,
who we are, and this is how we portray ours. We strive
for elevation and innovation. Doing something new, but
not far fetched from reality. While the masses go
RIGHT, we decide to go LEFT. You'll soon learn, that
it’s for the people ... by the people. Join us once
more. Discover that it's more than just an event, it's
an experience"...
I
just got a MP3 from DJ RIP outta Omaha, NE's
KBLR. It's the official theme song for the Golden
State Warriors by artist Abeeku featuring
Bone Crusher "Get It Right" (Warrior Music).
This track has the word "HIT" written all over it &
keeps that southern bounce flava bangin' from start to
finish. Log on to RIP's website at:
www.DJRIP.net or
email him directly at:
dj_rip2000@hotmail.com to get laced
exclusively... Phat props goes out to my homie
Wayne-Ski over at Elektra who was recently
featured dj'ing on BET's "Rap City" with Big
Tigger... Congratulations goes out to my dawg reppin'
my hometown in da "206," DJ Supa Sam who was
recently promoted to MixShow Coordinator at
Seattle's KUBE 93 radio. There is a part time
mixshow dj slot available so good luck to all the dj's
who are applying for that position... San Diego will be
representin' in a couple of weeks as HE-U Records
releases their debut artist, Ramsey with "Wuts My
Name." After hearing this track, E-40 comes to my
mind but as you continue to listen to it, you'll soon
discover the unique talents of Ramsey as this cat can
spit some phat lyrics! Stay tuned for the vinyl coming
soon... When it comes to diggin' in the crates &
producing some of the phattest new beats, Take One
is gettin' up there in the ranks & 2004 is gonna
give him even bigger props. His latest venture is his
brand new 12", "Pieces From The Puzzle" featuring
"Frustrated," "Next (The Remix)" b/w "As I See It" & "L.A.T."
(Buttermilk Records). Promo copies are ready to be sent
out to the dj's who are truly down to support indy
hip-hop at its best. Send your request via email to:
BRIAN@BUTTERMILKRECORDS.COM & tell him,
RapAttackLives.com sent ya'. If you're in L.A. you
can peep out Take One over at Arons Records on
Highland the place to be for vinyl junkies lookin' for
that hard to find & the latest hip-hop vinyl!...
