What's the latest going ons at Take Down Records & Cheesesteak Media? Here's Todd "intell" Wolfe to break it down for you, "Alright OK" b/w "Came In The Door" (Take Down Records). This is the record supporting our hit DVD/CD release "New Jack City: The Next Generation"! We are now on our way to selling 10,000 copies and it is available through numerous regional distributors all over the country! Looking for some feedback on it from those who got and for those who would like to check out the 12” and/or DVD/CD, drop me a line and I'll hook you up! We finalized our "Hood Party: Uncensored" deal and the commercial spots will start running nationally @ BET, Comedy Central and E! in April if all goes well. This is an urban version of "Girls Gone Wild" packaged as a DVD/CD soundtrack combo with artist interviews and performances as well as plenty of partying. We will have a limited amount of promo copies when the time comes.
We wrapped up shooting of the freestyle battle potions of our next DVD (Menace 2 Society remake) and the winner of our Bloodsport freestyle competition was a guy by the name of Shelliano. Straight off the top of the head monster. He was eating all the young bucks. Wait til you see this. Anyway, he won $1,000 and a spot on our new DVD and soundtrack so you'll be seeing more of him. We also have about 1/3 of the soundtrack finished as well. We’re looking to release this in late Spring. That's about it real quick, any questioins, give me a shout at (215) 880. 7384 or on my 2WAY: intell@tmail.com. For more information log on to:
http://www.takedownrecords.com... Philly's DJ Meddafore is keeping himself busy! " My new mix CD "Draft Picks: Second Season" hit the streets last weekend! Make sure you're checking for it. It already got some mention on MTV's "Mixtape Mondays": http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1485621/20040308/story.jhtml . This one's still fresh and I'm about to get workin on the next, so get at me now if you want to get your label or artist involved with it!  There's a profile on me in this week's issue of the Philadelphia Weekly newspaper, if you're not in the area, here's an on-line link: http://www.philadelphiaweekly.com/article.asp?ArtID=6950.  I saw Mel Gibson's blockbuster motion picture "The Passions of the Christ" movie last week & it's even deeper and more moving than you can imagine. If you checked the charts you will notice that my #1 and #2 spots are filled by joints that aren't out, both remixes are blazing and I'm a firm believer that steps should be made to make those unofficial joints real official, if not - then those artists involved need to be doing some future work together. #3 spot on my charts is locked down by the Ruff Ryder duo of Infa.Red & Cross, with "I Don't Want Cha". It's another solid joint from the next generation. They had a song last summer, "Do Ya Thing" that should have been one of the biggest hits of the summer, right up there with Joe Budden "Pump it Up," Beyonce "Crazy in Love" and Lumidee "Never Leave You."  I'm not sure why they didn't make noise then, but they definitely aiming to make that noise in 2004. Since they're on RR, I'm hoping their album is going to have some beats from Elite and Neo. March 9th just passed and in with memory of "The Greatest Rapper of All Time" Notorious B.I.G.. Bad Boy also released their 10 year anniversary compilation. It's Bad Boy and it's the hits, so you know it's hot. New season of "Making the Band" just jumped off too, I know I'll be watching. The buzz is spreading fast too on the new joints from Carl Thomas and Mario Winans, so that's two more projects to look forward to. Speaking of albums, YOU NEED THAT YOUNG GUNZ "TOUGH LUV" LP IN YOUR LIFE!! YOU NEED THAT YOUNG GUNZ "TOUGH LUV" LP IN YOUR LIFE!! YOU NEED THAT YOUNG GUNZ "TOUGH LUV" LP IN YOUR LIFE!! YOU NEED THAT YOUNG GUNZ "TOUGH LUV" LP IN YOUR LIFE!! Got some new hot mix CDs from Cali's DJ Rampage! "The Legendary" DJ Showtime should be dropping soon too (first solo mix CD in 5 years, so you know it's gonna be craazy!). CEO & Episode are doing the next Room Service mix CD and I'm glad, because maybe I'm forgetting someone but the only mix I remember recently liking from that series is from Grafitti. He did his thing too. If you haven't picked up the recent mixes from A-Beats and DJ Menace, what are you still waiting for??? I gotta give my "Label Rep of the Week" props to Mike Money, from Def Jam. One of the hardest working and still madd personable people in this industry. New issue of RIME Magazine (with Westside Connection on the cover) has a positive review of one of my mix CDs in it and as always, keep updated on what I got goin on at http://www.meddafore.com. Stay safe!! - Med"... Live365.com & Rap Attack internet reporter DJ EarthQuake has a new email address: quake551@comcast.net... My homegirl Dove is finally bouncing out of my hometown of Seattle & moving to the Big Apple, New York City to make even bigger noise. I'm sure you've seen Dove's name in many Hip-Hop related articles & reviews. One thing that stood out about Dove was that she was such a devoted fan & friend & would go to just about every local show Sir Mix-A-Lot & I would be performing/dj'ing at back in the 80's. She has proven herself in the music industry & I wish her all the best & success in her new ventures out in New York. Hey Dove, my goal is to have my own spot there too so look out for me aiight? You reach Dove online at: Tygereyz67... "Yeah that's right we're back, and only for a quick minute. A lot has happened. I am acutally hoggin' up the computer at the library cause my damn computer won't work. I've never attempted to do a list this fast, but I am just glad I got it done. The KANYE WEST ALBUM, DAMN, thats some hot issht. If you haven't listened to it get your ass up now and find a copy. That's whassup. Spring break is coming up so I am heading up to New York this week. Holla at me for those in NY let me know when I can come through. Thanks for the love. I have now got the website set up to a certain degree. It's still under contruction but at least if someone goes to it, theyll see a dummy page at: www.theurbanassault.com. And if you need to holla at me hit me up bigrube@theurbanassault.com . Shout out to Poncho Strickland, Nathan, LP, James, Alma, Diedre, Tenisha, Nasty-Nes, Tazzy Taz, Ak Smith, Twinz, Spliff, RAHK, Bro K, Rebecca, and anyone else I forgot," Ruben Cantu aka Big Rube (KOOP in Austin, TX)... Milena "Jazzybell" Pastore continues to represent on FT. Collins, CO.'s KCSU. Before Milena took over, there was Rebecca Rodriguez! What's she been up to? Here's the 411 straight from Ms. Rodriguez, " What up strangers! Remember me? If you don’t know me well, know that I am a woman of my word. I leave for Costa Rica in 2 and 1/2 weeks!! : D and I am so damn excited. I will be going out there and will first establish some income then will be looking into radio (pronounced rrrrrah-dee-oh for all you gringos –hehe) --I’m playin', they even call me gringa because I am from the states. So anyway… radio… I want to see what their market is all about then work to build bridges and shed some light in Hip-Hop’s realm. If anyone has extra music that they could send me, PLEASE send it now so I can have it in my hands b4 I leave. This would be a great opportunity to introduce good music to a brand new market which could lead to other things (also it's a loy quicker and cheaper to send it now than to send it while I'm abroad). I would love to hit y’all up on the phone lines so we can speak about los hap’nins, so if you can send me updated info, that would be lovely.Holla atcha girrrrllllll. Seriously à HOLLA BACK!!! Here's my address: Rebecca Rodriguez, Amplified Internacional, 10450 Wyandot St. Northglenn, CO 80234. I’ve been saving and waiting to do this for a looong time! My ticket is for 3 months but I plan on extending it so come visit me! You can email me at: illshowyouflava@hotmail.com... Let's shift our pitch control over to Richmond, IN. with DJ Solo from WECI, " What up fam & what do I love more than my fam? Radio of course. It’s either the call in response or just the fact that I can make a sad day into becoming a good day. Friday night proves college radio run’s ish, when commercial mix-show are afraid to bring it. Not all mixshow dj’s are afraid to bring it, example: former Rap Attack reporters  DJ Sonic, Paul Bunyon and Topspeed (yup they all got their start here on Rap Attack!) are still breakin' new Hip-Hop from Indy. I heard Speed dropped a mix cd. Not true, my source needs a new source. I wish he would so Speed come with it. And to everyone else, I hope all is good in your area. My wifey is sick, please wish her a speedy recovery. Oh yeah, Merk Money has hot mix cd out, peep it"... " I have recently finished another mix CD. This one is entitled NickNack “Bounce, Break, Skate” QuickMix #29. I am selling it for the low price of $4.95 + shipping. People are always telling me that I don’t have enough uptempo party rock CDs. This mix CD is just that. It features a wide variety of music (no commercial hiphop though) to get your ass on the dance floor. You can listen to a free low quality version of it on the web at http://www.crowdcontrolrecords.com/mp3s/quickmixes/quickmix_29.mp3 ," DJ NickNack... " I'm not certain if this is true or not, but why would Roc-a-Fella Records label the vinyl version of Cam'Ron's joint "Shake" as clean when it is not? In the days of Clear Channel, Howard Stern and Bubba the Love Sponge all getting fined and suspended in the Bush election year of stringent FCC crack-downs, why mislabel a single as clean if you don't want the DJ's to get in trouble? WARNING TO ALL DJ's: The vinyl version of Cam'Ron's "Shake" that is labelled "clean" is not radio playable! The verses appear to be edited, but chorus definitely is laced with curse words. Is Jay-Z willing to pay all fines?," Toast (WRPI 91.5FM / www.DJToast.com)...

I'ts your girl Jessica Weber from SPECTRE Music back on the grind to let everyone know what's crackin in LA & Miami was THE SHIT this year...
this Thursday, March 18th, Dizzee Rascal will make his US radio debut on LA's own Power 106...Dizzee's single Fix Up, Look Sharp has already been getting love in the evening hours...if you're local you can tune in to Felli Fel's show on between 7-10 pm pacific on 105.9 FM, or check it out online at (www.power106.fm), and listen to them chop it up...then later on that night Dizzee will make an appearance at the illustrious Key Club on the sunset strip before heading down to SXSW to tear it up at the Murder Dog showcase...i saw dood out in miami and he was dope as hell, so definitely check for him...his album "Boy in Da Corner" is out now on Matador...
i can't tell you how dope the Winter Music Conference in miami was this year...the weather was perfect...great parties, great vibes, and great people everywhere...there were a gang of people out there grinding, and having a great time doing it... to anyone questioning whether or not to go next year, i would advise you to start saving now...the prescence of M3 this year really gave the conference a new flavor...peace to DAVID PRINCE for trying to flip it, and really makin it happen...
BEST PARTIES:
FUTURE at OPIUM GARDEN: BBE really stepped it up this year...their party is always one of the best of the conference, but they took it to the next level this year by getting an AMAZING outdoor/indoor venue and having a completely ridiculous line-up...RICH MEDINA and VIKTER DUPLAIX played soul, house and afro-beat all night long...in the next room over ?UESTLOVE rocked one of the dopest hiphop sets i've ever heard...JAZZY JEFF, PB WOLF, MADLIB, and J-LIVE also threw down and contributed to the the mayhem...that is definitely the most packed i have seen Opium Garden in my entire life...
COMPOST/BLUE NOTE at GODDESS: i danced my ass off at this party...BUGZ IN THE ATTIC, KENNY DOPE, JAZZANOVA and DJ SPINNA can all be held responsible for a lot of people getting sweaty...great intimate venue and dope house music...although i could have done without all the guest list drama outside when people were trying to get in...
URB SUNSET SESSIONS: all 3 of their evening parties were dope as hell but TONY TOUCH the first night blew my mind...from the second he walked up in the spot dood changed up the whole mood of the party...once he dropped the new Method Man shit, it was on...he followed by mixing it up with a few really hot joints from his new record the Peacemaker 2, and a ton of classic heaters...BUT THEN he totally flipped it went into a dirty new york house set ...the shit was ridiculous...people were seriously loosing it on the dance floor...definitely one of best sets i've ever heard him play in my life...honorable mention goes to the JAZZY JEFF night with HAUL & MASON...if you were there you were chillin with an all star crowd, and both JAZZY and HAUL & MASON wrecked it...
HOPE RECORDINGS at CROBAR: i got there just in time to see WAY OUT WEST...i was slightly deflated by the fact that they did a laptop set, but they completely made up for it by having a dope ass vocalist accompanying them...after that TIMO MAAS came on and totally funked it up...Scott, did we ever figure out what the hell that track was with the Sly and the Family Stone sample? good god...shouts to GREY AREA and DJ HYPER who did more than their fair share to keep party moving...
M3 SUNSET SESSIONS: pretty much any given night there was dope ass shit going on at the Surfcomber...free drinks, huge beautiful outside venue, and outstanding live performances by PREFUSE 73, DANGERMOUSE, LOUIE VEGA & ELEMENTS OF LIFE, AMP FIDDLER, ACEYALONE & ABSTRACT RUDE, KRAFY KUTS & A. SKILLZ, DIZZEE RASCAL, J. ROCC and SHORTKUT plus special appearances by SHOCK G and KURTIS BLOW and a million other people...and the panels during the day were fresh too!
honorable mentions to the XLR8TR party with LUOMO, STACY PULLEN and MR SCRUFF and also to the OM party (MIGUEL MIGS, JOHNNY FIASCO and MARQUES WYATT were my higlights) which i didn't mention in detail above cause everyone already knows its is dope as hell every year...and the NAKED MUSIC/WORSHIP party at JADE with STEVE RASKIN (Thunderball) ROB PAINE and the whole Naked Music crew...and to TORTURED SOUL from NYC who totally rocked it at the Shelbourne tues...so hot!
i'll be in Austin for SXSW so if you're going to be down there SPECTRE will be reppin in full effect...shoot me an email and i'll send you an itinerary for our artists while we're down there!
SHOUTS to everyone i saw and chilled with in Miami! i would try and name you all, but then i would forget someone, and that would be unacceptable...yea Kev, i said it!!! peace, jessica weber (SPECTRE Entertainment Group)...

Here's what our panel are sayin' bout' Philly's Suspens new joint "The World Is Not Enuff" b/w "Y'all Can't Ball Ball Wit Us" (Suspens Recording): DJ Sleepy (Mixtape/NY): " I just recieved the second round of these records and there is still a skip in Ball Wit Us. I think it is an error in the pressing. Maybe you should try to get it fixed. Always skips when he says "I got my own studio like Rasheed.....skip.
Other than that I am kind of feelin this track and will give it some burn on my internet mix and see what kind of response it gets from the listeners. Also will try to get The World Is Not Enuff into the mix too. I like the beats for these two records and the mc's flow is not too bad either. Overall a nice record that has two songs with college mixshow and mixtape potential." Chela No.1 (WXDU/NC): " the world is not enuff: the beat has a throwback feel-- nice sample. ball with us: hook is ok. back up vocalist on hook is off the melody. beat is ok, same feedback on the lyrics." DJ Solo (WECI/IN): " suspens is getting airplay. this is a dope cut!" DJ EarthQuake (Live365.com): " Suspens- Ball With Us- I like the beat and the track. The lyrics are creative. I am feeling this track until the chorus. There is something that just bothers me and I think it is both the person singing the chorus and what is being said. The scratching is nice. The World is Not Enuff-  This track is pretty cool. Sounds a little distorted but that beat is really nice and they hold down the lyrics." Jason "PhilaFlava" Gloss (WOWL-FL): " Suspens is cool, but we're feeling the b-side more. It's growing on the listeners. We'll give it a few more weeks to gain momentum"...
