What's
upper! Spring has officially hit us but here in Southern
Cali, it feels like it's summer with temps reaching in
the lower 90's. My aircon is blasting on high as I write
this weeks column. It is HOT in hurrrrr!... I want to
give special thanks to Hahnsolo, Web
Entertainment & King Gordy for sponsoring
last weeks' conference call. King Gordy hails outta
Detroit & no doubt has his own unique sound & look. His
latest single, "Nightmares" was just serviced to our
panel & his album "Entity" shows King Gordy's influences
from Hip-Hop to Rock come out in his music. You can
check out King Gordy "Nightmares" (WEB
Entertainment) on MTV.com! Here are the links:
http://www.mtv.com/bands/az/gordy_king/artist.jhtml
or
http://www.k-ampplayer.com/king-gordy.htm. King
Gordy will be on tour with Tech N9NE at the
following locations:
Separate show - Sunday April 4th ….. Royal
Oak MI (Royal Oak Music Theater) ***Open for Method
Man***
Saturday April 17th ….. Columbia MO (Blue
Note) All Ages, Doors at 7:00pm
If any
of these dates are in your hometown, you can hit up WEB
Entertainment's head of College Radio Promotions,
Hahnsolo for radio interviews & drops at (248) 414-9100
/ cell: (734) 945-5156 or online at:
hahnsolo@webentertainmentrecords.com. Peep out
King Gordy's website at:
http://www.kinggordy.com... Star Beav &
Erocc'n have been creating quite a buzz with our
Rap Attack dj's as their single "Cowards" (RMZ
Music) continues to make noise on our Top 30 chart.
They are available for phone interviews & drops. For
more info contact Rob Z at (602) 741-8592 or
online at:
robz@rmzmusic.com... With the FCC cracking
down now with radio, I think the future of satellite
radio is upon us. SIRIUS is looking for mixes to
be aired on their satellite network & here's the 411
regarding that from the Wonder Twinz, "
What the deal peoples. I was asked yesterday to reach
out to some of the DJs we know and make a request (no
pun intended). SIRIUS has a stream called "WAX" where we
play mixes from DJs all over. We are currently looking
for more mixes to put into a rotation. They are REALLY
looking for more mixes from cats down south & on the
west coast. They get a ton of mixes from east coast DJs
and alot of them have the same east coast stuff on them.
If you were to send in about 2 mixes a week, they would
rotate out your old mixes each time. Unfortunately there
is no compensation for these mixes but they have already
started giving permanent time slots to certain cats who
have been consistant and who have put a little sometime
extra into their mixes. Here's how it goes down:
- 20 minute mixes with a good intro and outro.
- Uncensored.
- No emails, phone #, or websites.
If you're down, please holla at: Ronnie Triana
(Production Assistant-SIRIUS Satellite Radio)
online at:
RTriana@SiriusRadio.com. Thanks, Sonic &
Lord Vader, The Wonder Twinz"... Cultural

Roomservice for selecting me as their DJ of the
month-- look out for that info in their next newsletter.
Whattup Alma? Also, my girl Mothernature
just made it to the semi-finals in the auditions for
Missy Elliott's reality TV show. You can hear
her on my last mixtape, and she will be hosting my next
one, which will be coming muy pronto! Everybody who's
been getting at me about it, you will know when it
drops, trust!," DJ Chela No.1 (Urban Music
Director at WXDU-NC)... Our boy outta
Toronto's CKRK radio Karam drops some
knowledge this week with his review of the motion
picture "The Passion Of The Christ": " I wasn't
going to write about the movie until I saw it. I saw it
last weekend and I thought it was good, but the book was
better (hehehe). I think all the criticism in the media
is bogus but I'm not going to go into details. I used to
think that it was just a trend that people are moving
naturally away from religion (is that even true?). But
now I think it's all orchestrated as part of a bigger
plan being propagated through mass media and academics.
"So here go my single dawg, radio needs this They said
they could rap about anything except for Jesus That
means guns, sex, lies, videotape But if I talk about God
my record wont get played, huh?," Kanye West,
"Jesus Walks" and again "Illuminati want my mind, soul,
and my body Secret society, tryin to keep they eye on
me," Prodigy, "I Shot Ya Remix." There, I've done
what we're warned not to do. I've written and talked
about religion and politics in these emails. I guess my
side career in music is over now"... " Howdy y'all,
Brian checking in here from cold and snowy WBRS
with our weekly chart. Big week here as myself and a
few fellow WBRS DJ's got the chance to spin at a FUBU
fashion show at the Brandeis Univ campus. Not
a huge event but brought much exposure to the station. I
seriously doubt the school is Fubu's target audience for
their clothing but ah well. Anyway on with the charts
and yes I owe a bunch of folks feedback. I'ts coming I
swear!," Brian Coulombe ( WBRS-MA.)...
Portland's DJ Honeycut from KPSU was at
the recent Winter Music Conference in Miami.
Here's the lowdown on his trip, " Man, Miami is out of
control. Nice beaches, great parties and lots of
beautiful women. What more can someone ask for?
Highlights include seeing Kurtis Blow rock it
hard (dude still has crazy skills) alongside of two
turntablist from Europe ( I think A Skills and
someone else), seeing Danger Mouse do his set
from the "Grey" album live and seeing DJ Questlove
and DJ Jazzy Jeff drop classic after classic
at the Opium Grarden. What madness! Fat Joe came
out rocking the Terror Squad diamond amulet. He
is even bigger in real life. All around a good time," DJ
Honeycut (KPSU-Portland,OR)... Log onto Latin Prince's

Reggae feel to it & with NSS16's vocals, I think this
