WWhat's
upper! Happy Philippines Independence Day as my
country celebrates it's 106th anniversary over the
weekend! For the very first time on June 23rd and 24th,
the Empire State Building will dazzle the Manhattan
skyline with the colors of the Philippine flag. Yellow,
blue and red lights will brightly illuminate the tower
of the Empire State Building in honor of the Filipino
community. Now that's props! On a similar note, while
police in the US have taken to monitoring rappers in
cities across the country, police in the Philippines
will compete for the title of best rap artist. The
National Capital Region Police Office is
coordinating the "Kuya Ko 2 Rap Contest," in an attempt
to find the best emcee in Metro Manila's police units
during the Philippines 106th celebration of Independence
Day...I want to thank you & all our supporters of
RapAttackLives.com as last month, the month of
May was our biggest month to date clocking in over
280,000 hits on our site! Heads from everywhere are
paying attention to us & I really want to sincerely say,
"THANK YOU"... My favorite joint of the week has got to
be by Holla Point "Baby Mama" (Sony Urban).
I can't get the hook "I Hate My Baby Mama" outta my
head! LOL... My favorite album of the week is straight
outta Detroit by Ric-A-Che "Lack Of
Communication" (SRC/Universal). Yo, the
production is tight & this kat has his own unique steez
when it comes to spittin' lyrics. I'm really feelin'
Ric-A-Che so peep his ish out... I want to give props to
my east coast AK, Nathan Sheard outta Sony Urban
for hookin' up the one on one interview for me with
artist, St. Juste. Her new single "5 Dollars" is
makin' some noise & this girl outta FL. deserves all the
noise. You can catch St. Juste and the Wylde Bunch
on the "Rock The Vote" tour hittin' a city near
you... My boy EQ from BK's, WBCR wants you
to know that Mr. Complex is now available for
in-studio & phoner interviews. His album release party
is set for June 21st at NY's Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette
Street) at 11pm. $5 at the door with performances by;

(646) 654-4643... Universal Records Rap Dept. is proud
to welcome aboard to their staff their new
Vice-President of Mixshow/Street Team, OJ
Wedlaw (oj.wedlaw@umusic.com),
and their new head of Streets, Budda Ces... I
just peeped out 5 new cuts from the Geto Boys (Rap-A-Lot)
& lemme tell you, Scarface, Willy-D &
Bushwick Bill are BACK & still HARD CORE to the
streets. I'm not sure when their ish drops, but it sure
is nice to hear this group who put TX on the gangsta map
back in the 80's still doin' their thing & sounding
doper than ever here in 2004... You know I get endless
amount of new product from Universal & I think I
stumbled across a new joint that just might blow up in
the clubs, the strip clubs & in the mix. Check for
Scarlet Fever "Peanut Butta" (Universal). This girl
is kinda like old schoolers HWA (Hoes With
Attitudes) & Adina Howard all mixed in
one when uncensored over a crunk ass beat! Peep it...
Another female emcee that's keepin' her lyrics hard core
to tha tee is Jacki-O who's nominated for a "BET
Best Female Hip-Hop Artist" award. After peepin'
her "The Official Bootleg" (TVT), this girl is
HARD! Lookout Boss, Jacki-O's takin' over in
2004. Cuts I was feeling were "Out Of Control" featuring
Timbaland, "Jam Don't Shake" featuring Brisco
& Devastator and "Nookie (remix)" with
Wyclef. Also on the TVT Records tip is their "Crunk
Classics" compilation featuring Three Six Mafia,
Trick Daddy, Lil Jon, Iconz,
Pastor Troy, JT Money, Petey Pablo &
Youngbloodz to name a few. A must have for your
crunk collection. Give my dawg, Joe Wiggins a
shout to get laced at (212) 979-6410 or online at:

With design help from Lino Delgado of the
Floor Lords and B-boy Ivan "The Urban
Action Figure", Saucony is releasing a
special edition 'Courageous' style sneaker foot wear for
the Hip Hop dance troupe Floor Lords. Originally formed
in 1981, the Floor Lords have played an important role
in the evolution of Hip Hop culture for over two
decades. Helping first define and then expand the art of
b-boying (aka break dancing), the group has helped bring
Hip Hop to millions of fans worldwide through television
and film. Saucony Originals vintage athletic
footwear uses authentic Saucony profiles of the past in
a variety of different materials and colors. The Saucony
Floor Lords 'Courageous' sneaker features unique
materials and the crew's signature colors. The first
release will happen in July with the red/black/white
colorway. This edition will be available exclusively
online at
www.zappos.com. The second run in Fall 2004
will include more colors, all specially chosen by Floor
Lords crew members. The Floor Lords are now a
professional dance troupe, and continue to share their
art with Floor Lore, a play written, directed and
choreographed by the group, and through other special
performances. To peep out an exclusive look click here:

" It’s another week of underpaid work in radio and the
music business. I’m just going to get real fat and then
sue my station and blame them for letting it happen. You
know people are winning cases against McDonalds
for just that. Ludacris is coming here July 9th.
We are giving tix away and then winners will have a
chance to Stand Up in public for some lengthy period of
time for seats in the luxury box. The concert is also
during Artsfest weekend. As if Artsfest doesn’t make
things around here crazy enough. Fun times. Rob,
can you get me Def Jam/Luda promotional material?
August 21st is our second annual Hot Ridez
car show. If you can send any promotional product it
would be greatly appreciated. We are doing a pimp my
ride makeover this year called the Hot Ridez Hookup
where we pick someone to get total overhaul of their
hooptie. Get more info on our hompage
www.hot1079fm.com
Send any promo product to: The Mayor Mike
Jax, 965-1 Southgate Dr., State College, PA 16801.
Slum Village didn’t fall off my college chart, it
moved to the commercial chart with 20 spins last week. I
am still smiling every time I play Kanye or Slum.
Hopefully the paradigm shift is getting closer. I just
found out that Kanye’s track for White Boy got serviced.
Oh well I copped it off EBay. That’s the spot to
find a record that you know got serviced but you didn’t
get, because some cats still get 6 copies and sell the
extras on Ebay. Then I can’t even legitimately get on
people’s mailing lists to get two copies. It’s so
backwards sometimes it almost seems normal. You gotta
love it!!! I got a chance to check out a club about an
hour from me out in the middle of nowhere but it is a
jumpoff.
www.thecellblock.com The Cell Block is an
old prison turned into a huge club in Williamsport PA.
Two DJs and a band on their busy nights make this spot
the blast off. Contrary to the website, the homie DJ
Grooves is a resident there and keeps it extra sexy
with hip to the hop. When you send me extra copies of
records he is playing them here
www.thecellblock.com The average
attendance is about 1,000 on Thursdays and 500-800 on
weekend nights"... Tazzy Taz (EnLaCasa.com):
" PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF MY NEW CELLY # 707-889-2485. FEEL
FREE TO CALL ANYTIME TO SEE HOW YOUR RECORDS ARE DOING
IN OUR MARKET. ALSO, I'M OFFICIALLY ON AT SIRIUS
SATELLITE RADIO. MY MIXES ARE HEARD ON WAX STREAM

ALSO, BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR THE EN LA CASA TV VIDEO
SHOW COMING TO
enlacasa.com SOON.ONE, TAZZY TAZ"... DJ Raw-B (KUSF-San
Francisco): " Big thanks to DJ Chicken George for
coming through Beatsauce this past Sunday. Dude's skills
are on point and his selection is nice. Definately check
out the slew of mixtapes this cat's got out. He's from
Austin so those in that area are blessed or check him
when he's spinning in your town. For more info go to

Pastore (KCSU-CO.): " Hellloooo everybody!
It’s great to be back! KCSU Hip-hop is now back in full
effect, so the listeners better be gettin themselves
prepared to BANG IT! This means that Jazzybell’s top 30
and CMJ charts are gonna be makin’ their way to your
mailboxes again every week. Sorry you haven’t heard from
me in a while but a girl’s gotta go have some fun after
an intense semester right? I went to San Carlos, Mexico
immediately after finals week for ten days and then went
back home to Monte Vista, CO to visit the good ol’
friends and fam. So if there’s anything that you need
give me a holla cuz we need to catch up and I’d love to
hear from you!
Damn that Smarty Jones, all the hype for
nothing…still recovering from that loss"... DJ
Honeycut (KPSU-Portland): " Ok so I did it, I
finally finished college. Last final was Monday & now
I'm officially one of the underemployed masses. Time to
get the hustle up. Speaking of, does anyone have a rich
uncle willing to blindly finance the ambitions of a
young dreamer? I thought not...oh well there's always
Starbucks. It will be business as usual at KPSU though.
We will be retaining all of our Hip Hop Dj's through
summer so keep those promos commin. My tenure as Hip Hop
director we be kept until the end of July. After which I
will be movin
to New York City to pursue a career
in.........something. If anyone has plugs on a good
apartment or a nice landlord hit me up!"... Shaw
"BumRush" Hargett (WKNC-NC): "
Well, I know alot of people have mentioned how I have
been hard to get a hold of and kinda on the low lately.
There is good reason. So, in case any of you didn't know
I have created my own label (Vintage Music) and I
have a couple 12" dropping in the next few weeks that
will amaze you. Got national cd distro locked down and
shit is about to pop off with a few albums being
released this fall"... DJ Solo (WECI-IN.):
" What up fam? I am better than good... Sorry if your
email didn't get to me this week, my box was full from
junk mail but it's clean now, I think. R.I.P. to
Ronald Reagan. He was the first president I knew
about & what he died from which was Alzheimers &
pnumonia is what my gramps is dying with & that ish is
no joke. The baby girl I love is now 9 months old. Where
did time go? Oh well. Halfta root on the Lakers
cuz they need it. D town whipped that azz. Who's ready
for some NFL? I spent my weekend or say 25 hours
of it puttin a roof on my partna's house as a favor.
That is hard azz workbut a fun experience. If anyone
