What's

the air-con on high cause it's gettin' hot in hurr!...
To all my Los Angeles & Cerritos homies, I'll be the
guest speaker this Wednesday, June 30th at this months "Filipino
American Network" meeting at BJ's Pizza & Brewery (11101
East 183rd St.) in Cerritos from 7pm to 10pm.
Icy-Ice from the Beat Junkies & Brian
Samson will be there representin' & I hope you will
too. For more info you can log onto:
www.FANLA.org...
Alma G. has informed me that Room Service
has moved & here's their new address: 55
Washington Street, Ste. 452, Brooklyn, NY 11201...
We all know that "The Band" is no more but there is a
buzz startin' with the new Ness & Babbs
double sided joint "My Hood" b/w "What's That Sound" (Bad
Boy/Universal). Peep da ish & lemme know what choo
think. Bad Boy Records is set
to release a digitally re-mastered version of the late
Notorious B.I.G.'s groundbreaking debut album,
"Ready To Die" (originally released in 1994) on
July13th. "Ready To Die" is considered a Hip-Hop classic
and has sold over 4 million copies. Bad Boy Records
makes this announcement as the staff pauses to remember
the late Brooklyn rapper on what would have been his 32nd
birthday on May 21. The remastered CD is being released
as a gift from B.I.G. to his fans and also as a special
thank you from Sean "P.Diddy" Combs to Ms.
Voletta Wallace. The digitally re-mastered "Ready To
Die" has a crisper and clearer sound compared to the
original CD. The CD/DVD features Notorious B.I.G.
classics such as "Unbelievable" and "The
What" (featuring Method Man) and music videos
including "Juicy," "One More Chance," "Big Poppa"
and the long cinematic version of "Warning." The
DVD also includes a never before seen live outdoor
performance of "Unbelievable" at Oukast's
Atlanta barbecue. The CD contains previously unreleased
tracks including "Dreams" and "Who Shot Ya?"
Until now fans haven't been able to purchase these songs
commercially. To date,
"Ready To Die" is the highest selling Hip-Hop catalogue
ever. In total, the Notorious B.I.G. has sold an excess
of 20 million CDs worldwide and is still regarded as one
of the greatest MC's to ever live by the Hip-Hop
community... Once again, Universal Records Rap
Dept. is proud to welcome aboard to their staff ,
Kenneth Darpoh aka Corporate Ken (Director
Of College Radio). I'm so happy to see Universal
bring back their College Radio dept. which shows the
millions that College Radio is still a factor in
breaking new Hip-Hop music. WORD. So give our new fam &
friend Ken a holla at (212) 373-0793 or online at:
kenneth.darpoh@umusic.com and tell him,
Rap Attack sent ya'... Debuting out the box on
our Rap Attack TOP 5 UNDERGROUND CHART is
the debut 12" by A-Alikes with "F.T.P." (Sure
Shot Recordings). This underground jewel is politically
motivated lyrically & really worth your attention to
break on your wheels! Their first album, "Live Or Die"
will feature a guest appearance by the Dead Prez
as well as A-Alikes will be appearing on Dead Prez's
album "R.B.G." (Sony Urban). For more info

supreme@suprememanagement.net... You might
remember, "Gang Bangin' In Little Rock," which won
several honors including the CableACE Award for
Best Documentary (1994). It’s been almost a decade since
Marc Levin and Daphne Pinkerson went to
Little Rock, Arkansas to expose gang problems in the
heartland as part of HBO’s 1994 classic America
Undercover documentary "Gang War: Bangin’ In Little
Rock" which won several honors including the CableACE
Award for Best Documentary (1994). The filmmakers return
to Little Rock with co-producer Michael Skolnik
to revisit gang culture in "Back In The Hood: Gang War
II," but this time through the eyes of several gang
members from the original including Leifel Jackson,
leader of the Original Gangster Crips (OGC),
one of the most powerful gangs in Little Rock. "Back In
The Hood: Gang War II," follows Leifel, aka OG (Original
Gangster), as he comes out of prison after being behind
bars for almost a decade for drug trafficking. Leifel
Jackson was one of the original Crips targeted in the
famous 1993 drive-by shooting, featured in the original
"Gang War." Now he is trying to make a difference in the
hood, but every day is a struggle. Marc Levin brings
narrative and verite techniques together in his
independent films, episodic television and
documentaries. His dramatic feature film, "SLAM" won the
Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
Marc Levin and Daphne Pinkerson have produced numerous
films for HBO's America Undercover series, including
Heir to an Execution: A Granddaughter's Story, Mob
Stories, Prisoners of the War on Drugs, Execution
Machine: Texas Death Row, Soldiers in the Army of God
and Gladiator Days. Thug Life in D.C. won the 1999
National Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Non-Fiction
Special. The original Gang War: Bangin' in Little Rock
won the CableACE Award for Best Documentary of 1994, as
well as a Silver Medal for Best Documentary at
the Houston International Film Festival. For more

reggielove_88@hotmail.com"... The Wonder Twinz
(Sirius Satellite Radio): "Hope all is good.
Renegade Foxxx is available for phone interviews,
so please let us know if you wanna set one up. we can do
that right away. Thanx again for the continued support &
you can hit us up at: 1-800. 994.8946 or online at:
mail@wondertwinz.com"... Dan Shores (WHRW-NY):
"Our four year anniversary show is on July 2nd & if
you're an artist or promoter want some of your artists
on the show for an interview, now's the time to email me
back and let me know what you have in mind. Aside from
that, I'm working w/ my man SYL at WICB to
put the area on smash! Hit me up online at:
d_shores@hotmail.com"...
Jazzybell
(KCSU-CO.): "I’m
goin to NYC!!! It is not very often that I get a chance
to go thatta way so let’s meet up! I will be there until
Thursday, so please please, please if you are out on the
East Coast reach out to a girl who would really like to
meet you!!! My cell number is 970.310.7564 so give a
call and we can go out and drink lots ‘o’ PBRs, reek
havoc and such. You all know that it’s been a crazy
bangin’ week for Hip-Hop here at KCSU, my ears, body and
soul have just been lovin’ it along with all of Northern
Colorado! THANK YOU!!!"... DJ Solo (WECI-IN.):
" What up fam?1st off , it finally arrived, the "Rock
The Beat Vol.1."This comp. is filled with a variety
of styles & I will provide feedback when I put it on air
to review with the listeners and whatnot. In my personal
opinion I have no complaints with it. My bad dream last
week turned out to be a birth to my homie and his wife.
Baby is in great health and I am proud of them.
Universal Record's showing college dj's love again, hell
yeah. The beheading over seas not so cool, I think we
need to get our people outta there... it's like killing
an american overseas is a game show or something. the
more they broadcast this on CNN and NBC
and the such the more it will happen. So I can say the
media is part to blame for these actions. Props goes to
Bill smoked out Clinton on telling how it
is. This man did not sugar coat anything unlike someone
else.If your label is still showing all college's love,
we the college radio family respect you. Remember we
play what we want. I have no set rules on what I can
play. That's why we are breakin records, all commercial
dj's have to play what the MD says and when & if when
XM satellite radio takes over, College radio will
still be there for you. Happy 10 months Lily Bear
Bear. Peace"... Edgie Kokoski (WUNH-NH):
"BREAKING NEWS:
T.I. and Lil' Flip have beef! As soon as I
can find two people who give a f*ck about these artists,
I will write more on why this is important...
Hammer was sued this week for trying to elude a
debt by placing his home in a trust company. The
complaintent pointed out that Hammer was far from
destitute, as he shipped more than 600,000 copies of his
2001 album "Active Duty". The lawsuit apparently left
out that most of the copies shipped back to Hammer
marked "Return to Sender"...
Snoop Dogg has an exciting new solo deal with the
Neptunes! Will this finally be the album that
tops "Doggystyle"? I'm betting the Neptunes will do for
Snoop Dogg what they did for Common on "Electric
Circus". Make him sound like an ass. Unwashed
ass...Major diss to the Black Eyed Peas for
changing their song "Let's Get Retarded" to the generic
"Let's Get It Started" just so that they could make some
NBA cake. I'm sick and tired of rappers excluding
the mentally challenged from their records. Like when
G. Dep changed his song "Special Olympics" to
"Special Delivery" or when Quad City DJ's
punked out and released "C'Mon Ride The Train" in place
of the original "C'Mon Ride the Short Bus". It's simply
not fair people"... Nate Abney (WKDU-PA.):
"Summer is officially here. Shaq is
dissing Skillz on mixtapes. I guess he likes
losing streaks, but we'll take him here in Philly to
play with AI though. Countdown to Rocksteady
and I can't wait. I really don't like listening to
the radio in Philly anymore. It is like enduring 6 or 7
years of watching the Clippers play in one 24
hour period. Appreciate the good music from everyone. It
has really made my job difficult as far as charting, but
I will do my best to keep everyone somewhat happy"...
Meddafore (MixTape DJ/717HipHop.com-PA.): "
The "Spiderman 2" soundtrack on SONY Music is
something you need to be checking for, not hip-hop but a
lot of the bands that I'm a fan of: Maroon5,
Yellowcard, Dashboard Confessional and more.
I wish hip-hop soundtracks could be as solid...The
Foreign Exchange's "Connected" album
is by far my favorite album in a long time. If they're
on a mission to save Hip-Hop, their mission is a
success!! This is what Hip-Hop should sound and feel
like. The last album that got me this excited for
Hip-Hop was Little Brother's "The Listening".
"Connected" hits stores on 8/24"...
And
