Last week we lost another Hip-Hop soldier & friend, Leonard "CHEEKS" Patnett. Cheeks died of heart compilations (he's been struggling with a bad heart for over 20 years) & he had a very successful street marketing company based here in Los Angeles with "Opiumm Entertainment." He worked with many of the major labels which included Arista, Capitol, Interscope, TVT & Elektra to name a few. I've known Cheeks for many years & we both worked together on the street promotions tip with Crazy Pinoy Promotions & I have fond memories of him hangin' out with me over at HITS Magazine back in the days. Last Saturday's funeral was beautiful. Just about everyone showed up to pay their respect & show their love to Cheeks. I was one of the many there to do just that. Peace my brother & R.I.P. always...
