What's upper? Happy Valentines Day!... Much props goes
out to Sara Melendez, Dwayne Cromwell,
Triple P Records & Qadeer for taking time out
of their schedule in Vegas to roll up to Southern Cali &
sponsor last Saturday's luncheon with Lucky Lou's
Global Record Pool! We all met at West Covina's
Chevy's & the place was packed with a who's who of top
notch dj's. We peeped out cuts from Qadeer's album "What
Happens In Vegas Stays!" gettin' nothin' but favorable
reviews from the audience. Tracks that stood out were
his latest single "My City" featuring Lil Flip,
"Dear Abby" and "Hero" featuring group member
outta New Orleaqns, Nsane. This is one new artist
who no doubt leaves a lasting positive impression on you
once you meet him. We at Rap Attack wish Qadeer & his
Triple P fam all the best!...

(WMHB
/ WRED-ME): "Some of you may have already
received the new Nas single "Just a Moment". For
those who have not, the commercial vinyl shipped to
everyone from Sony. We are very excited to be
involved with this project and may have some
opportunities for you and Nas as he prepares to hit the
road in various areas of the country. In the mean time
here are a few things on Nas to hold you over. Please
share with your fellow DJs, your audience and so forth.

Nas
Billboard Review:
Few Hip-Hop artists have mastered the tricky art of the
double-album. The task of creating two CDs full of good
material has thwarted many an A-list talent. However,
Nas has ably stepped up to the plate with his first
double-disc, "Street's Disciple." Fans got their first
taste of the album with the hardcore anthem "Thief's
Theme." Backed by a fierce bassline, the Queens, N.Y.,
MC spins one chest-thumping lyric after another. While
the track is reminiscent of Nas classics like "It Ain't
Hard to Tell" and "Street Dreams," the more
thought-provoking cuts are where Nas really scores. On
"American Way," which features Kelis, he rails against
this country's various ills from the Bush administration
to newly politically active hip-hop artists. Other
highlights include the Rakim tribute, "U.B.R."(Unauthorized
Biography of Rakim)"; "Bridging the Gap"; and the
controversial "Coon Picnic (These Are Our Heroes)."
New
Nas Website!:
The
brand new Nas website has been launched. You can check

Nas 4
& 1/2 Star Allhiphop.com Review:
"Nas
has crafted his most personal work to date with the
double-disc opus Street's Disciple (Columbia); a
musical tour-de-force of candid introspection, topical
creativity, and genuine rap music that further
solidifies his spot in the Hip-Hop history books."
"Street's Disciple is the year's most important major
label release thus far, and, with a little over a month
remaining on 2004's calendar, it may very well end up
being the year's best commercial release. Rather than
direct his attention to the clubs or to popular radio,
Nas stays true to himself and gives rap a much-needed
boost of quality. Using Street's Disciple's verses as
convincing evidence, Nas' mind spray is rivaled by very
few in the culture today." Thanks for continued
support... Please let us know if you need anything and
watch out for the Nas record and mixtape in your
mailboxes!"...

Jason-D
(KHDC
#2-CA): " So I actually got more comments last week
for my crack about my favorite teams (49ers &
Raiders) winning a collective 5 games then my wise
cracks about the Patriots. Except of course from
Papa D who practiced his cross examination skills
on me by attempting to prove that my independent vs.
major label comparison of the Eagle and Patriots was
flawed. Anyway you look at it, I caught an L for $20.
Not a bad loss for a Vegas trip but still wished I had
hit the 300 to 1 Parlay Card I filled out. In Vegas, you
can get these cards that have ten "this or that" bets
(ex: more than 2 interceptions vs. less than 2
interceptions, eagles with an even score at game end or
odd score at game end, etc). They call them Parlay
cards. So you basically take your best shot at the ten
pretty random bets and if you hit them all it pays like
300 to 1. The problem is someone obviously told Donovan
McNabb what I bet so instead of trying to always score,
he just threw the ball to whoever was open... on either
team. My favorite commericial was the one where the dude
goes in the liquor store talking on his cell phone and
is telling the person on the other end that they are
paying way to much for a deck. He gets up to the
register and the clerk has his back to him. He continues
his cell conversation while waiting for the clerk to
turn around and starts telling the person on the phone
that they are being robbed (about the deck price). The
clerk hears this and turns around and pepper sprays the
dude. The other workers cattle prod him and then beat
him with a baseball bat. I appreciated this small token
of violence in an otherwise G rated Superbowl"...

Edgie
Kokoski (WUNH-NH): " Another Super Bowl has come
and gone, and I’m glad that the Pats won once again. Not
really because I am a Pats fan (I remain loyal to the
pathetic Giants of New York), but for the fact
that the other 10 people I watched the game with were
diehard Pats fans and surely would have rioted and
wreaked mayhem on the house if Philly had prevailed. I
found this year’s Super Bowl to be fairly uneventful, as
solid but average athleticism hallmarked the action on
field, retarded and uninspired commercials polluted the
breaks, no bare breasts were shown at half time, and the
idiotic commentary of Joe Buck and egotistical
observations of hick Chris Collingsworth made me
want to slam my head in a car door. But hey, it’s
another excuse to drink on Sunday so it’s worth every
second. I just got a funny email alert from
allhiphop.com stating that a new clothing line will
be launched soon that had been started by the late great
Notorious B.I.G. back in 1996. I don’t know about
all of you, but I think that if I wore the clothes now
that I wore in 1996, I would get about 10 feet from my
front door before a serious ass kicking would be
administered on me by anyone within viewing distance.
Speaking of things that were cool in 1996, my old buddy
Suge Knight was in the news this week as he was
arrested for having marijuana in his vehicle when
stopped by local authorities. This guy is just begging
to go back to jail. I guess if you’re incarcerated you
don’t have to think up any excuses for not releasing
albums on your all but defunct record label. I think
that Loud and Wild Pitch put out more
music this past year"...
