What's upper? The Urban Network Conference
is now history & yo to my surprise, this years 15th
Annual Conference was off the hook! This year out did
last year's conference & the quality of people really
stepped up it's game. I was very proud to have our
fellow RAP ATTACK DJ's reppin' for the
first time on the "Hip-Hop College & Mixshow" panel,
DJ's Kazzeo (KHDC-CA), Chill Will (WCBN-MI)
& Raw-B (KUSF-San Francisco). This panel
was very informative & well attended as we covered
topics ranging from "How to get airplay outside of
college & mixshow radio, has the internet & satellite
shows have an effect on college & mixshow radio to how
do you get records with a lot of cutbacks going on at
record labels? We also had a very good Q&A session with
the audience & overall, RAPATTACKLIVES.COM was in
the house & we made an impact at the Urban Network!
(see photos above)...
Thank
you to Def Jam Recordings & our fam, Splif,
Theo & Blue Steel or sponsoring RAP
ATTACK at the Urban Network Conference. To

Rap
Attack takes a "WHAT'S UPPER" look this week with:
Jason
Gloss
(WOWL-FL):
" WMC was cool. The De La Soul/Mos Def
show was the highlight for me. MF Doom also
performed and is one of my favorites but the man has no
stage presence whatsoever. De La gave 110% and Mos Def
was cool but he needs to stop rapping as if he is a part
of Ice T's "Body Count." Hottest joint out now
are Beanie Man's "Bread & Butter" with
Puba & Dot X, the new Blueprint LP,
Chino XL's "Enough Beef" and Z-Trip with
Acey & Mystic!"...
Nick
Huff
(KOXY-Los
Angeles): "You heard it hear first the GIANTS
will win the WEST with or without Barry Bonds"...
Kazzeo (KHDC-CA): "So Johnnie Cochran
bit the bullet. Am I supposed to be in mourning? Give me
a break. The guy committed adultry. He used every trick
in the book, even those with no merit to get a clear
murderer off the hook. Quit being sheep people. Embrace
facts. Next thing you'll be asking me to have compassion
for Roman Polanski. Don't hold your breath. If
you haven't visited the Rap Attack message board yet,
please do. The link is on the main page at
www.rapattacklives.com"...
Brian
"Z"
(WZND-IL): "I got the brand new WILL SMITH
two days ago from my mans at Interscope and the
man did the damn thing on the album. A quick note... He
does NOT go after Eminem on the album as many
people on-line are reporting. He spits one line, that
simply recognizes he doesn't care that Eminem dissed him
three albums ago. Phew, glad that got cleared up!
**We have T.I. & Trillville hittin up our

Edgie Kokoski (WUNH-NH): "I heard a rumor
that McDonald’s is offering cash to rappers who use the
phrase “Big Mac” in their records this summer. I guess
their “I’m Lovin’ It” Hip-Hop campaign wasn’t as hip as
they had hoped. I’ve heard rappers talk about their big
Mac-10s, but never their McDonalds food. What’s next?
Songs about Chicken McNugget-heads or records about
Hamburglaring? I can’t wait for some record that’s like
“Cam’ron feat. Grimace”. Now that would be
purple haze. Johnnie Cochran surprisingly bought the
farm today. Every news story I’ve seen so far speaks
about what a great person he was, but professionally he
struck me as a despicable human being. I find it
interesting how people look down their noses at
prostitutes and gamblers but setting murderers free for
money is a dignified and condoned profession. Give me a
rapper over a lawyer any day"...
BumSquadDjz.com's
