[[  August 15,  2005  ]]

What's upper? I went & peeped out the motion picture "Deuce Bigalow:European Gigalo" over the weekend & I have to say, I got a few laughs but it can't compare to the original. I think Eddie Griffin saves the movie as his character adds much flava & laughs to the sequel. I'd wait till it drops on dvd at Blockbuster...

I gotta give props to my boy, Nickle Dee Wright outta Jive Records for sponsoring last weeks RAP ATTACK CONFERENCE CALL! Our guests included up & coming Chris Brown who's latest joint "Run It" is getting a lot of radio, club & video play love along with new Jive artist, Noah with his single "Dat Boy Chevy" which kinda has a lil "Posse On B'dway flava to it!" Both artists came off correct & we wish them all the love & success. In addition, I also want to officially welcome aboard to our RAP ATTACK DJ panel & Conference Call panel a former Bum Squad DJ, my boy DJ Commando! Commando is an O.G. in the radio biz like me & getting ready to relocate from Iowa to Chicago's WIIT-Illinois Institute Of Technology as their new Asst Music Director & Air Personality, effective September 1st! Commando will be an asset to what we do & believe in & he is a people person & will fit in perfectly with all of you on our weekly calls! He's not scared to speak out, he offers feedback on the spot, he's got natural leadership skills & he lives, eats & breathes Hip-Hop! For now until he moves, you can reach Commando at: (319) 981-7654 or online at: djcommando1@aol.com or at djcommando1@tmail.com. Welcome aboard fam!...

If you'd like to hook up a radio interview with Daz Dilinger please contact Ms. Shemia Miller at shemia@shemia.net. Daz' new joint "One Gun" will be droppin' on So So Def soon & it's got some real West coast heat to it! Let her know RAP ATTACK sent ya!. Also droppin' is the new project by Big Boi (Outkast), The Purple Ribbon Allstars with Kryptonite" (So So Def/Virgin) featuring Big Boi, Killer Mike, Black Owned C-Bone & Rock D Legend. This cut is da ish. This cut is gonna make some big noise on the real. Dialog outta TPLN.NET predicts this as his sure shot "PICK HIT!"... Now that Crooked I is no longer on Death Row Records, I have a strong feeling his new joint "Cali Boyz" is gonna put this kat on the seriuos Hip-Hop map. Scott Storch does magic on this cut & I can feel that dj's from all over are gonna support this ish. Stay tuned... I love peepin' out new and independant releases. Make sure you check for The Clutch Shooters with their debut album "Sequences Of Life." I was very impressed with the production, the true Hip-Hop feel & the lyrical skills from Hip-Hop duo (M.A.X. & The Nothing). Featured are Kanetic Source (formerly of Ozomatli), Boston's Virtuoso & Awkward Landing, Compton's The Undaground Asiatics, The Antibiotics Crew, Soup The Chemist & Kee Stratagee, L.A.'s own Kram Neves, Okie Doke & C-Allah. The Clutch Shooters are still lookin' for distribution so if you're down, I highly recommend you peep this album. For more info contact online: maxxamill1@aol.com & log onto their website at: www.ClutchShooters.com...La Bruja makes her phat debut with "Bruheria" (Ill Tongue) by taking the classic Big Pun sample from "100%" & flippin' it to make this joint solid! Also peep her track Fuego" featuring B-Real from Cypress Hill which also has some real tight flavas to it! For more info, log onto: www.LaBrujaMusic.com. To get laced, give our dawg Wes a shout over at Ch'rewd: (314) 785-0171... Dwele "I Think I Love You (Virgin) is gettin' a big early buzz on his ish. Don't sleep on what could be a BIG record for Dwele... Yay area's own B-Legit is making his strongest comeback this year with his new sdingle "Guess Who's Back" featuring E-40 (SMC Recordings/Universal). Stay tuned... Scott Storch once again does it again with some of his tightest production work with the debut release by artist Luc Duc "PG 21" (Frederick Ent.). This joint will be shipping to our RAP ATTACK DJ's panel next week... If Mike Jones is your type of steez than you're gonna be feeling the debut new joint by artist, Slick 23 reppin' Indiana with "We Can Handle That" (Mancini Wear Records). Peep their website out at: www.marcomanciwear.com... Jackson, MS. own, Goodfellaz "Holla Ooh" (Rich Boy Ent.) is about to make some noise with their debut single. Rap Attack takes a "WHAT'S UPPER" look this week with:

Jason-D (RadioBoise.Org): "I've been keeping this quiet for a minute so they could work out the bugs! I have been helping to launch a community radio station here in Boise, ID that just began webcasting. I've been in it from the ground up and doing a lot of consulting for them. We have secured funding, grants, etc, have a radio station and complete studio, and are working on our FCC license. We expect to be on air in 2006. In the meantime, we are webcasting and I have a weekly show. You can check me out this Friday at 8pm Pacific on www.radioboise.org with The Wreck Show. All of my contact info remains the same. I still report to rapattacklives.com, rap network, submersive and insomniac. Thanks to Nes and everyone else who looks out for me each week. I will see all of you at CMJ in just a few weeks! I will now be officially reporting to RAPATTACKLIVES.COM as an Internet Reporting DJ:

RadioBoise.org  Internet Station Boise Community Radio: www.radioboise.org with "The Wreck" Friday's 8pm Pacific & Tuesday's 8pm Pacific  Here's all my current info for your mailing list & files":

Jon? Doe (KCPR-San Luis Obispo): "Damn... just got back off a week's vacation... the longest drive I've ever done from San Diego to slo-town happened on friday. shit took me 9 hours in traffic with the kids screamin in the back seat... for those that don't know, that's normally a 5 hour drive. anyhow, wish me luck y'all... right after I send this email, I'm going to get a vasectomy... I'll be chillin in bed all weekend"...

EarthQuake (Live365.com): "Shoutout to Nasty Nes and the Rap Attack fam for holding down such a great site. Congrats on the increased 730,000 plus hits of traffic to the site!"...

Edgie Kokoski (WUNH-NH): "My brain is fried after a total shake-up at my company has resulted in 10 hour days with no lunch break for me. I really enjoy eating my lunch over 1 hour and 40 minutes. That’s how long it takes when you have one bite between phone calls. Since I have the brain power of a lobotomized inbred right now…here are my random thoughts for the day…

I’m really glad to see that NASA blew another 1 million dollars on landing their space shuttle in California instead of Florida. It’s not like that money could have gone to schools, public works, or unfortunate people. That would have been a waste.

Does anyone else besides my good pal Lee L’Heureux and I think that “No Daddy” is a disturbing title for 17 year old Tiearra Mari’s single?

Why does Peter Jennings die, yet all of the FOX news anchors live?

Now that Beanie Sigel is out of jail, I wonder how long it will take him to find and pummel the people who picked all of the singles off his album following “Feel It In The Air?”.

Fuck Rafael Palmeiro. I wonder if the steroids facilitated his need for Viagra. He may be the face of cheating in baseball now, but to me, he will always be the face of erectile dysfunction.

Lloyd Banks and Young Buck arrested for having guns in their vehicle. Somehow I don’t think it took Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys to crack that case. Good police work!

Is it just me, or does XXL get more commercialized every month? I can do without the monthly Interscope covers and features only about dirty south artists. If I wanted to read about Webbie, Ying Yang Twins and David Banner, I would buy Murder Dog or some dumb shit like that.

More surliness next week"…
