What's upper? Happy Columbus Day! I'd like to
quote Papa-D (WRBB-Boston) on today's true
meaning of, Columbus Day, " As far as today's
"holiday"...what's that all about?? Why does Columbus, a
half-assed explorer who thought he was in India, get a
friggin' holiday!?!? In every job I have had if you
screwed up that bad, you wouldn't get the 'employee of
the month' award so I'm not sure why Columbus is so
heralded....beats me!"...

Come out to sign up to become part of the campaign to
defeat the initiatives Gov. Schwarzenegger has
placed on the November ballot, initiatives which will
allow him to further decimate health care, education,
and other social services. The California Nurses
Association will be in the house to link up with
anyone who wants to go door to door to defeat Arnold's
proposals.
Come out to network and link up all the efforts in Los
Angeles to bring medical care to musicians--the benefits
we do for each other, the artist unions working to
defend and expand the health care coverage of their
members, those who get out the information on how to get
medical care or health insurance. And, of course, the
folks who are working so hard to gather aid for the
victims of Hurricane Katrina.

" I have been moving for the last two weeks, I have
finally bought a house, so here's my new addy:
Chris "DJ Kristyles" Westbrooks
2000 Forester Street
Harrisburg, PA 17104"...
Dan Shores (WHRW-NY): "First
of all, extra large shout outs to Nasty-Nes.
For all the man has gone through, accusations and such,
it's refreshing to see him find happiness and be
engaged. Much love to Nes and his future wife.
Secondly,
I've been doing a weekly event playing beats and breaks,
original samples, jazz, reggae, dub and afro-beat at
this local spot. Any extra samplers, flyers or magazines
that any labels are itching to get rid of can be
utilized here for giveways. It'd be much appreciated"...
Jason-D
(RadioBoise.Org):
" I would like to say thank you to all promoters for
lacing me with the music, we're sounding better than
ever thanks to all of you. Extra shouts to Rahshiene
@ Interscope for the Obie Trice "Wanna
Know" record. Wow. The new 50 joints are hot too.
Good to see Interscope looking out. I'm also checking
for the new Atmosphere "Watch Out" and I've got
both Little Brother albums (Minstrel Show &
Chitlin Circuit) in heavy rotation on the iPod. Man
those dudes are doin it. Extra, extra shouts to Nasty
Nes on his engagement. Congrats dude!"...
Shinyo
(WNHU-CT):
" Ghostface was in Elm City last night tearing
shit down at Toad's Place. Duke put on a hell of a show,
although I wish he woulda came on earlier as there's a
1AM curfew on weeknights (weak-night) in New Haven.
RA the Rugged Man did about five joints including
the last two singles from Die, Rugged Man, Die as well a
few older cuts. iCON the Mic King DJ'd (he
pressed play on the CDJ) and also ended up doing the
same for Ghost and crew. Tru Life came on between
Rugged and Tony Starks, but he had too many
damned hypemen and at that point everybody wanted to see
Ghost. Much love to Swollen Members who put on
the tightest set of the night with energy to match. Not
a bad way to spend a Tuesday night"...

Jayforce, Kate Wolfson, Latin Prince,
Buddy (Global), Ivan (Universal
Canada) and everyone else... next week I'll have a
write up of the events with some pics (see photo

Max Brown (WMHB-ME): "What's up y'all?! I
hope everyone is doing well. From what I've been
hearing, the Power Summit turned out alright, and people
even managed to have a little fun while they were down
in the Bahamas! ;) Things have pretty nutty for me on
campus, trying to get all my work done and figure out
"what I'm going to do for the rest of my life." But
fortunately, I've had some crazy music to keep my
spirits up! My mailbox has been an unquaffable grail of
Holy Shit Hip Hop! Too much good stuff to name here, so
I'm just gonna get right into it! Hit me up anytime
(917) 647 2915, or on email, if there's anything I can
do for you!
P.S. Does anyone happen to know the names of some of the
big Law Firms that specialize in Music? It's kind of a
random question"...
