Rap
Attack takes a "WHAT'S UPPER" look this week with:
LoKash
(WNHU-CT): Hi everyone again.I know I've
been absent recently but I am still alive and playing
records. School has started as I'm sure you know and
even tho I didn't stop running around at all over the
"break" I did get a chance to check out Phoenix, AZ for
the first time and visit my Mom, which was cool.
But yeah, I'm around, and if you need me just remember
that my phone number changed and is now 203.278.2776 and
not the other crazy 718 number that I used to have"...
Solo
(WECI-IN):
"I got hit with the virus bombin'
Indiana
hard. If you watch tv, then you know my hometown is now
officially on the map.
"Armed and Famous" was filmed in Muncie, In home of all
my fam., My cuz J. Lee told me he saw them and
knows some people profiled on there. MC Serch is
bakin wack rappers... This is my favorite show on tv,
simply because it reps the roots of Hip-Hop. If the kidz
crack under pressure, he tells them to "STEP OFF!!!". I
am disturbed by the mixtape scandal. ATL has alot more
going on than selling cd's and what not. I am glad that
it wasn't a drug charge or something. Naptown got busted
a couple of years ago for mixtape slangin. I spoke to a
fellow mixer recently and asked him if he was still
poppin out units... too my surprise, his talent is in
the club or on the air only. The only thing I can think
of is Mag expolitation got Drama and fam. It's
nice to read Scratch but, if a little
success can get you in legal trouble, f the fame. For
that reason I don't wanta be a big name like Flex
and Just Blaze. That's my word!"...
Kazzeo
(KHDC
- Salinas): "The White Rapper Show is hilarious. I
can't stop watching that shit. Seeing Lord Jamar
and Sadat X on there was great. The "King Of The
Burbs" guy looked like a total idiot in front of them.
EarthQuake
(Live365.com):
"Things are finally getting back into a routine around
here. The damn snow is gone and it’s back to rain and
around 40 to 45 which anyone knows most people in
Seattle like it that way. I can’t believe my boy turned
8 months on the 22nd. Time is just flying.
Check the pics on
www.myspace.com/quake551. If you are not one of
my friends send me an add. By the way did I read
Melle Mel wants to be in the WWE or am I just
dreaming? Whoa!!!"...
Edgie
Kokoski
(WUNH-NH):
"I think it was no secret that 2006 was an underwhelming
year for Hip-Hop, but 2007 is already giving me hope.
With new music from Sean Price, Brother Ali
and Kool G Rap in the works, who isn’t excited
about the return of Freddie Foxxx? With tracks
already leaked produced by Premier, Alchemist
and Pete Rock, this is an early contender for
underground album of the year. Freddie is one of the few
rappers left with real street cred. I remember at
CMJ a few years ago when he stopped his
performance and announced that he would fight anyone in
the crowd. Whoa.
Dishonorable mention to Melle Mel, who announced
that he is planning a run at the WWE. Sorry dawg…we
appreciate your contributions in the past…let’s leave it
at that. Plus, I think John Cena already has the
trademark on the wrestler/rapper gimmick.
I
wish somebody had told me that they were re-issuing
Main
Source’s
“Breaking Atoms” so that weeks ago I could
have put the CD copy that I have delicately handled for
10 years on eBay and made a quick $60.00. Now if
I could only get that kind of money for my Deion
Sanders CD.
Speaking of football, I think that the AFC
championship game was probably one of the best I can
remember. Although it broke the hearts of all the
Pats fans that envelope me here, I’m actually
excited to see if Peyton Manning can silence his
doubters. Lord knows the Manning that quarterbacks my
favorite team will only get to a Super Bowl if the other
31 teams in the league go out of business"...
Dundee
(KBLA-CA):
"Please let the labels know that we are a cd only
station"...
