Bishop Lamont
has
been hard at work lately. He’s been in the studio night
and day recording music in preparation for an explosive
2007 for Aftermath Records. Bishop’s debut “The
Reformation” is currently scheduled for early 2008, with
Dr. Dre’s “DETOX” following shortly after.
In the meantime, fans have been hearing DJ SKEE
Presents Bishop Lamont’s “NIGGER NOIZE” which hit the
streets hard in March 2007. In addition to a mix-tape
called “The Pope-Mobile” slated for release early 2008
along with “CALTROiT” with partner in crime Black
Milk. With some changes coming up for The Math as
well as the recent signing of Tiffany Villareal,
Dr. Dre and Bishop Lamont will have their hands full
preparing for a new era of Aftermath and counting down
to Bishop and Dre’s respective 2008 releases! Bishop
will soon be hitting the studio with notible and
respected Urban artists. No guest artists have
officially been confirmed, but planned sessions with
Eminem and 50 Cent are in order. Production
on the anticipated LP is expected to come from Dr. Dre,
Battlecat, DJ Premier, Scott Storch,
The RZA, Pete Rock and others.

Edgie
Kokoski
(WUNH-NH): "I had one of the most incredible
radio shows of my career this past week. About two hours
before I was set to go on air, I learned that Sway
Calloway of "The Wake Up Show" and MTV
fame was in town to film a John Edwards
forum. He came by our station and asked if we had a
Hip-Hop show. When they replied "We do, and it's on
tonight", Sway asked if he could hang out. Sure enough,
he arrived promptly at the start of the show with an
MTV camera crew trailing behind. The filmed for
almost 35 minutes as Sway and I chopped it up about
politics, Hip-Hop, the radio game, and his legacy in the
music business. As the cameras packed up, I figured that
was the end of our time. But Sway brushed off the camera
crew and proceeded to hang out for another hour helping
me co-host my show. He was an absolute pleasure to have
on, and one of the most intelligent and humble guests
that I've had. If you have a chance to build with him, I
suggest taking advantage.
Today's show was pretty cool too as I got to hang with
Witchdoctor and Khujo (Goodie Mob) from the Dungeon
Family. They were really down to earth and didn't sugar
coat anything as they discussed their struggles to make
it in the rap game. Khujo even openly discussed his near
fatal accident that left him as an amputee. Although I'm
not always feeling the ATL sound, these dudes are on
point as people"...
Jason-D
(RadioBoise.org):
"Spent the week in
New
Orleans
y'all. My first time. The food was incredible and the
people were really nice. They definitely still need a
lot of help though. You can just tell by the amount of
restaurants and bars in the downtown area what a
thriving economy it used to be. There just isn't the
volume of people to support it all right now. It was not
uncommon to be in a bar with only 20 people and a live
band. There's just no way anybody was making much money.
The conference I was attending was right in the French
Quarter and just a few blocks from
Bourbon street.
It was nice to finally visit the home of Mardi Gras, a
place I had only seen before on COPS. I heard some
incredible music too. Every night we hit a different
spot listening to live bands playing blues, soul, and
funk. I would go back in a minute and like I said, they
could really use the help. You could tell there was a
strong resentment towards the government... a lot of
empty promises. Most shops sold t-shirts expressing that
frustration. A couple of my favorites were, "FEMA
- Fix Everything My Ass" and "FEMA Evacuation Plan (Run
Bitch Run!)". Gotta support the N.O. y'all. Neva
forget. All my shows are archived at:
www.djjasond.com...
Kazzeo
(KHDC-CA):
"As a lifelong fan of the Raiders, I have seen
some really bad times when it comes to losing streaks.
But I've never seen any sort of team collapse as bad as
the NY Mets just went through. Talk about
completely falling apart. That was brutal.
And speaking of brutal, Britney Spears better be
on suicide watch.
And as far as my Raiders go, Culpepper looked
really good against the Dolphins. I'm hoping our
momentum carries over the bye week.
My prediction - Phillies vs. Yankees in
the World Series...
Nesto
(WODU-VA):
"What's good people? CMJ is almost here
and yet again, I will not be able to enjoy the
festivities. Sucks because it looks like there are going
to be some dope shows going down this year, and I just
want to get the hell out of VA for a minute to chop it
up with everyone again in the city. Spectre is
always doing it up big, and I'm sure Shaw has
something planned. If I can make it up for a couple of
days I will, but I'm not holding my breath on that.
School is not the cause this year, but this jobby job I
have is keeping me on lock. Ridiculous!!! I think it's
time for a change.
Keep the hits coming, and as Edgie said, it looks
like vinyl may be dead as far as the big leagues is
concerned. Def Jam said the aren't pressing much
if any wax, and
Atlantic
is
only sending CDs or mp3s.. I guess it's kind of forcing
DJs to pick up Serato or Torq. Especially
the club DJs. Times have definitely changed"...
Nate
Abney
(WKDU-PA):
"Yeah and it's on. I got a team in the playoffs for the
first time since I was in 10th grade and another team
who desperately needs a bye week. Given Andy Reid's
track record I feel sorry for the Jets on the 14th.
Looking forward to CMJ. I'll get to New York
sometime on the 17th and as usual I have no place to
stay as of yet. But after a few street smarts episode I
find my way to some kind of shelter one way or the
other. Till then keep all the freebies coming. Love the
Prince Ali record with Keith Murray, Casual, and Planet
Asia. Finally a track where everybody on it is actually
good at the same time"...
EarthQuake
(Live365.com):
"Here comes the Seattle Seahawks. I know it was
just the 49ers but they were on the road and they
dominated on the defensive. They head into
Pittsburgh
this
Sunday and because of the Superbowl 2 years I
really don’t like them at all. It must be fall around
here because the weather has really turned to the rain
and wind. Gotta love
Seattle weather!! Please check out the brand new
internet show at
www.live365.com/stations/quake551"...
DJ
Yoshi
(WPHH & Mixtapes-NJ): Once again, thanks to DJ
Showtime for putting my a** on Power. I think the
1st week went ok.
Shouts to everyone that tuned in via the stream that
couldn't hear it on the air. I definitely appreciate the
support. Thank you to the folk that tuned in and emailed
their comments: both good and bad. It's the only way
that I'll become a better DJ.
So
the big deal that I'm waiting to talk about is still on
the table. As soon as the papers are signed & it's
"official" that'll be the subject heading of the email!
For
all those in the Vegas area, I'll be there from 10.12 -
10.15 on some mixed business/pleasure, so reach out and
let's chill!
I
gotta talk about this album real quick before I get into
the play list. KEYSHIA COLE. Just like You is the
SH**! I'm telling you people, and I have been, this
talented lady has written an album that a lot of you can
probably relate to. The joint: Fallin' Out (#3) is a
BANGER. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the 3rd
single. It's already getting scattered airplay I
believe. But seriously, BANGIN album. The last album to
come out that was that good in my eyes was Justin's
joint"...
DJ SA
