week as Floss Angeles got a taste of Bad Boy's
new artist, Janelle Monae. Big Boi from
Outkast has been working with this artist from day
one & she is "HOT!" Janelle Monae is like female vocals

Gwen Stefani! Wait till you see & hear her.
Judging by the crowd, Janelle is a "HIT!"...

So
folks who don't know, here's what's going on.. Police
terrorist committed a Sean Bell type murder on mother's
day here in LA. They shot up a car filled with unarmed
Black men after supposedly hearing gun-shots. None of
the passengers had a gun, committed a crime or shot
anyone. The car was so riddled with bullets it look like
swiss cheese. They showed the car on today's morning
newscasts.
During the press conference, the police tried to say
that the driver of the car sped at them an almost ran
them over so they unloaded on the car. However, one
person was arrested and let go with no charges. When
asked about this puzzling action, the
Inglewood
police spokesperson said that they let the people in the
car go but they reserve the right to re arrest them
based upon the results of the pending investigation.
So what we have here is the following; The police are
investigating themselves. And they can arrest these
unarmed men, one of whom was killed after they
conclude-Translation: After they get their lies in order
and stack up the evidence they can come after these men
and thus cover their own negligent asses.
The other point to keep in mind as you read this story
is the contention that the car tried to run the officers
over. Well we do know that there were gunshots in the
area and that when that happens people usually run for
cover.
Is it possible that the driver of this car heard those
gunshots the police claimed to have heard and the driver
panicked and sped to get out the area? Has any of those
men and women in blue given that some thought?
This latest incident comes at the heels of a swarm of
Philadelphia police beating down 3 men and the acquittal
of NYPD officers who shot Sean Bell 50 times...last year
police in Inglewood were caught on tape beating up an
unarmed 15 year old. Not sure what more can be said or
done at this point, but it can't be business as usual.
Davey D
Inglewood police fatally shoot passenger, wound
driver
The officers reportedly believed they were under
fire. A 19-year-old
L.A.
man is killed. Shots were heard but no one is charged.
By Ari B.
Bloomekatz, Julie Cart and Hector Becerra,
Los
Angeles Times Staff Writers
Believing they were under fire,
Inglewood
police officers Sunday shot and killed a passenger in an
approaching car and wounded the driver, but no weapons
were found and no one has been charged, authorities
said.
The passenger was identified as 19-year-old Michael
Byoune of Los Angeles, who died at the scene from
gunshot wounds to the torso, said Los Angeles County
coroner's investigator Jerry McKibben.
The officers were in their patrol car near Crenshaw
Boulevard and 8th Avenue about 1:40 a.m. when they heard
gunfire and pursued a man who was running, said
Inglewood Police Sgt. Hector Ramirez.
The man jumped into a slow-moving car in the 3000 block
of Manchester Boulevard, and the officers heard more
shots and felt something hit their cruiser, Ramirez
said.
The officers then fired several shots as the vehicle
came toward them, according to police. The driver is in
stable condition with a leg wound, and a third man in
the car was not injured. He was taken into custody,
questioned and released, police said.
Police Sgt. Dennis Brown later said the patrol
car had not been hit by gunfire. Investigators initially
indicated that the incident might have been
gang-related, but later said the three men were not
suspected gang members.
At a small vigil for Byoune on Sunday night, his mother,
Jackie Roberts, 55, said her son had never been to jail
and was not involved in violence or gangs.
"Right now it's Mother's Day. Last year on Mother's Day
he was there for me. Now he's not here and I won't see
him no more," she said.
Other family members described Byoune as "a big teddy
bear" and said they were confused over the shooting.
At a Rally's restaurant at Crenshaw and Manchester
boulevards, night manager Vidal Garcia said he
"heard a lot of gunshots" and was surprised police
didn't find any weapons "because there were gunshots
before the cops even got there.
Another Rally's employee, who feared getting involved
and asked not to be identified, said from his vantage
point he saw only the police taking out their guns. He
and two co-workers ducked as soon as they heard gunfire,
and after more than 15 shots, he heard screaming, he
said.
The employee said he recalled hearing "Oh, I can't
breathe" and "I'm not armed." The restaurant is about 30
yards from where the police opened fire.
A manager at the adjacent Big Lots discount store
said police did not ask for tapes from the store's
outside security cameras.
Reached at her home, Inglewood Police Chief
Jacqueline Seabrooks declined to discuss the
shooting. "This is not the time to call," she said,
adding that it was not a business day.
In officer-involved shootings, the Los Angeles County
district attorney's office sends a team to the scene,
according to spokeswoman Jane Robison. The team,
which includes a prosecutor and an investigator,
"conducts a parallel investigation" to the police probe.
If there are discrepancies between the findings, the
district attorney's office investigates further, Robison
said.
Over the last decade, the Inglewood Police Department
has been dogged by scandal, including a nationally
publicized 2002 videotaped beating of a handcuffed
teenager and 2006 allegations of on-duty officers
committing rape.
Last year, The Times reported that federal investigators
were looking into allegations that at least six current
or former Inglewood officers had received sexual
services at local massage parlors.
In 2002,
Inglewood
police arrested and handcuffed 16-year-old Donovan
Jackson for failing to comply with orders. After the
teenager was handcuffed, one of the officers picked him
up and slammed him against a patrol car.
The scene was captured on video, and national media
compared the incident to the 1991 Rodney King
beating by
Los
Angeles police...

HOLLYWOOD
BLACK FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES OPENING NIGHT
FILM
HBFF 2008 will open with World Premiere of "Two
Turntables and a Microphone"
Jam Master Jay Documentary Features Appearances
by Russell Simmons, Reverend Run, Jay-Z,
LL Cool J and 50 Cent
The Hollywood Black Film Festival (HBFF) today announced
that "Two Turntables and a Microphone," a music
documentary about the life and untimely death of Jam
Master Jay with guest appearances by Russell Simmons,
Reverend Run, Jay-Z, LL Cool J and 50 Cent, will have
its world premiere as the opening night film of the 2008
Hollywood Black Film Festival. One Village
Entertainment, the film's distributor, will sponsor the
opening night gala which includes the world premiere
screening and old school Hip-Hop after-party.
"I am particularly excited about showcasing this film.
Not only am I a native New Yorker, but I'm a true fan
who grew up listening to Jam Master Jay spin with Run
DMC.
This movie highlights the life of an extraordinarily
talented artist who will always be remembered as one of
hip hop's true legendary innovators. I can't think of a
better way to commemorate Jam Master Jay then at the
opening night of the Hollywood Black Film Festival,"
says Tanya Kersey, founder and director of The Hollywood
Black Film Festival.
On
October 30, 2002 - Legendary hip-hop DJ Jason Mizell,
aka Jam Master Jay, was gunned down in his Queens
studio. Security tapes of the incident mysteriously
disappear, the five witnesses are uncooperative and no
one is talking, until now.
"Two Turntables and a Microphone" documents the
investigation of the unsolved murder of Jam Master Jay,
RUN DMC's groundbreaking DJ and producer, deftly
revealing the history of hip-hop and mainstream rap
along the way. Exclusive, candid interviews with 50
Cent, Jay-Z, Russell Simmons,
RUN
DMC and more offer insight into Jam Master Jay's life -
including information that could finally help police
solve the murder that shook the music world to its core.
"This is an amazing time for us. We, at
One Village, are extremely proud to offer this film to
the public" says, Brett Dismuke, Vice
President of Acquisitions & Urban Programming for
Image Entertainment & head of its One Village
Entertainment division. "Two Turntables and a
Microphone is an outstanding film that not only
celebrates the life and career of one of hip-hop's
pioneers but it also gives us a history lesson as to how
this worldwide phenomenon came about".
The world premiere screening will take place on Tuesday,
June 3,
8pm
at the Writers Guild Theater in
Beverly Hills, California. Following the screening there
will be a Q&A with the director, producers and some of
the cast. An old school hip-hop themed after-party will
follow. Tickets for the Opening Night Gala are $75 each
and tickets are limited .
The festival runs June 3-8. For ticket or more

(KHDC-CA):
"Two movies that must be seen, Iron Man &
Harold and Kumar. Iron Man kicked ass big
time. I went and stayed through end credits as everyone
walked out. Then, as I'm sitting there reading who the
chief gaffer was, a scene comes on with Samuel L.
Jackson that seems to set up the sequel. I'm not
gonna say what it was about but I'm laughing at those
who missed it because I can't wait for Iron Man part 2.
Now as far as Harold & Kumar goes, I was laughing
throughout the whole movie. Just some really good Animal
House / Fast Times At Ridgemont High type old school
humor. Doogie Howser steals the movie in my
opinion.
For those who missed it in theaters, Talk To Me starring
Don Cheadle, is about to hit the cable channels (HBO
/ Stars). Really solid movie about 70's radio
personality Petey Green. I really liked this one
when I saw it last year. Give it a look if you can.
I read a story last week in the newspaper about a couple
of lame asses in San Diego who walked into a video game
store, pepper sprayed the cashiers, ran out with copies
Grand Theft Auto, and then got busted because a police
helicopter followed them to a Japanese restaurant. What
a couple of idiots.
Even bigger idiots were a couple dudes at Marine World
amusement park in Vallejo, CA. These tow goofs went to
the park and, while in the animal section of the site,
one of the guys dared the other one two jump the guard
rail and punch a camel. And guess what? The guy actually
did it. What a jackoff! The two were quickly arrested by
park security"...
Nesto
(WODU-VA):
"It's that time of the year people. Finals are here and
summer break is upon us. That does not keep the show
from going on though so keep them goods coming.
For any basketball fans out there I will make a
prediction for the West final and I have to say I see
the Lakers taking it for the West finals. As for
the east, I'm not convinced on a team just yet. I'm a
Celtics fan, but if they continue to play the way
they did last night and barely pull out a win, they
won't be playing in the finals. Unless of course their
opponent is sucking too, like
Cleveland.
If Lebron gets it going, the Celtics need to
watch out. He has a way of changing a games outcome. And
Kobe
finally gets his MVP, it took long enough, but
this season it's well deserved.
And a big "gas face" award goes out to all the
San
Diego college students that just got busted for slanging
them narcotics. What the hell were they thinking, I mean
one was about to get a Criminal Justice degree, one a
masters degree in Homeland Security, and these dumb
asses were using their cell phones to TEXT MESSAGE the
prices, and products to their customers. How dumb was
that??? Cell phones are easy to capture traffic on. Dude
getting that Homeland Security masters degree should
have known that, and haven't these fools watched the
HBO show The Wire??? WOW!!!!!!"...
