Senator Barack Obama, the Hawaiian-born son of a father from Kenya and a mother from Kansas, officially become the presidential nominee of the Democratic Party, capping a meteoric rise from a little-known first-term Senator to the first African-American to win a major party nomination. Barack Obama accepted the Democratic Party presidential nomination declaring that the "American promise has been threatened" by eight years under President Bush and that John McCain represented a continuation of policies that undermined the nation's economy and imperiled its standing around the world. On that note, Senator John McCain has selected Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate, according to Republican sources...

Stadium Entertainment Corporation, the full-service entertainment company founded in 2006 by longtime music industry veterans Gary Katz, Camille Barbone and Jerome Mas has formally announced that they have inked a licensing agreement with the multi-platinum-selling rapper T-Pain’s digital-only label, Nappy Boy Digital.

Under this new licensing agreement the first single from Stadium Entertainment’s upcoming CD release is Beam Me Up,” featuring T-Pain, Rick Ross and introducing Nappy Boy artist Tay Dizm. Beam Me Upwill also appear on Stadium’s debut compilation CD,
TRUE TO THE GAME, which is being released on October 21, 2008. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of TRUE TO THE GAME will benefit the fundraising initiatives of the Kansas City-based Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

Stadium Entertainment Corp. was created because “we recognized the need to construct a new paradigm in an industry that often forgets that its reach and power comes with certain responsibilities,” stated founding member Barbone. Stadium Entertainment Corp. is uniquely different from other emerging independent record and consumer entertainment entities in that each release, with the Stadium Entertainment Corp. imprint, will create a revenue stream that is pledged to the fundraising efforts of a wide-variety of politically-correct, grass-roots, philanthropic organizations. With this mission and its focus on philanthropic efforts, Stadium Entertainment will generate projects featuring like-minded artists, such as T-Pain who share a socially-conscious perspective, and who desire to “give back” to the community-at-large. As Gary Katz describes: “We’ve created a new business model where the artists, their music and worthy charities can come together to participate in projects that have a profound impact on the lives of others.”

David Abram, one of Nappy Boy Digital’s founders added: “We embrace out-of-the-box thinking, and we felt that Stadium Entertainment exemplifies this. Gary, Camille and Jerome have developed an incredible vision that calls upon their collective intellectual currency and practical experience. We knew, almost from the start, that working with them and helping to further Stadium Entertainment’s philanthropic thrust would result in creating an exciting new business model and we’re excited to be a part of it all.”
TRUE TO THE GAME, in addition to this first single, will feature new tracks combining the talents of successful and prominent recording artists with new talent such as GLC featuring Kanye West, Chingy featuring Ziggy Nina, Raiyn featuring Talib Kweli, Sam Chris featuring Big Boi of OutKast, Tone BlacQ featuring Snoop Dog, and Yung Joc, which Stadium Entertainement believes will capture and engage the music-buying consumer’s attention.
Stadium Entertainment’s mission is to aggregate the varying elements of unique entertainment projects that will attract consumer support, involve viable and practical corporate participation, and utilize the unique creative talents of award-winning, platinum and multi-platinum-selling performers in order to generate sales that will support a wide range of innovative creative projects, raise funds for worthy charitable causes, and bring new and talented individuals to the public’s attention.
The company has offices in
Santa Monica, California and New York.

Rap Attack takes a "WHAT'S UPPER" look this week with:

Edgie Kokoski (WUNH-NH): "You are probably like me. Your home is probably bursting with records and cds. Do you friends and family make fun of you and question your sanity like mine do? If so, forward them this video link: http://vimeo.com/1546186

It's the story about Paul Mawhinney of Pittsburgh, PA. Paul has the world's largest record collection. He's spent his entire life building an unrivaled archive of records. And he can't find anyone to care for it as he grows older and infirm. It's very touching and sad.

I discovered a very interesting book this past weekend. It's called "Post Secret" and by Frank Warren. Years ago he started a project where he invited people to anonymously mail him their deepest darkest secrets on a post card.
Warren encouraged those who responded to be artistic and asked that they only share secrets that they had never told another soul. I read the book cover to cover in a single day. If you want to sample some of the funny, shocking, and sad responses, check out his blog where he posts some of the latest entries: http://postsecret.blogspot.com/

Just when I had given up on all televised content other than sports, Comedy Central came to my rescue this past weekend with a roast of Bob Saget. If you have a chance to catch this, please take the opportunity. Here's a small sampling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8wOTcv5E38&feature=related

Plus, how often do you get to see John Stamos using vulgar profanity? Not often enough"...

Kazzeo (KHDC-CA): "This message is for you artists and/or people who represent Hip Hop artists. If you're rep for an artist, please pass this message on to them.

I know it's been a while since I sent out any updates but things are still going strong on this end. In fact, they are going so well that I'll be celebrating my 15th year on the air at KHDC on September 17th and I want you all to be a part of the fun.

Now obviously I can't schedule everyone to call in during the two hour broadcast but what I can do is play some pre-recorded messages from you during the show. So if you are available or interested in recording a quick message of congratulations, all you have to do is call 831.454.0375 and leave the message. Simple right?

The general script would run similar to this. "Hey this is________________ and I want to congratulate DJ Kazzeo for rockin' the last 15 years on the air at KHDC". Any ad-libs you want to add are greatly encouraged.
Note: My name is, Kazzeo, is pronounced "Kazzy Oh" similar to "Jazzy Flow". The deadline to record the message is September 12th.
Thank you all in advance for taking part in this big day"...
