Rap
Attack takes a "WHAT'S UPPER" look this week with:
Nesto
(WODU-VA):
"What's good fam? Ok the presidential race is in full
swing now. Obama's camp had their big party last
week, and now this week McCain's camp is having
their big party. I do have to say that McCain's pick for
VP is much easier on the eyes then Obama's, but this
isn't a beauty pageant right. May the better candidate
win. And now matter what the outcome history is
definitely being made this time around.
College football is back in full swing and this past
weekends games is what the sports fan has been waiting
for. Big up to ECU for beating Virginia Tech,
and UCLA for pulling out a win over
Tennessee.
On a musical note there's hasn't been a lot of records
so far this year that I would say have really peaked my
interest. I'm expecting more from artist now a days, but
I seem to keep getting the same old same old. This has
been across the majors and underground leagues. More so
on the underground side of the house. I expect most
major label releases to not impress me, but the
underground artist has been dropping the ball lately. I
do have to say that I have been more impressed with
major label releases this year then I have with
underground artist. However, I'm holding out hope that
there is a diamond in the rough still to be released for
this year. Maybe Kardinal or Murs will
drop one of those gems, or maybe the new Foreign
Exchange album. We will see. keep the goods coming"...
DJ
Sage (CFRO-Vancouver
BC, Canada): "The other night, I literally went from the
airport to the radio show. I just got back from The Bay,
which was a slamming good time. Big ups to Kevvy Kev
for undertaking "The Bang the Drum" festivities in
the beautiful Golden Gate Park as well as celebrating
24yrs of strong
Hip-Hop radio. This event was awesome real Hip-Hop in
the park (Das Efx, Canibus, Rec League,
The East Flat Bush Project, more then twenty
other performances), sunshine, and then drinks
afterwards at DNA lounge for the official after party
and freestyle cipher. What away to wrap a fabulous
summer!

(WCBN-MI):
"What's up people's? it's your boy Dj Chill Will

University of Michigan's
WCBN 88.3 fm. Home of The Prop Shop, the
longest running college radio Hip Hop show in the
mid-west maybe the country. Be sure to tune into the
show weekly on 88.3fm in the Ann Arbor/Metro Detroit
area or at
www.wcbn.org Saturday nights from 9 to
12midnight"...
Nate
Abney
(WKDU-Philly): "It's another week and the kids
are getting ready to go back to school. There is a
school right behind my house and I don't look forward to
all the noise in the school yard but oh well. Listened
to a couple albums over the weekend and I must say I
like what I heard from Brooklyn Academy and the
DJ Muggs and Planet Asia albums. People
still make good music. The Phillies are being the
Phillies. My Nittany Lions beat a high school
team and the Rams are the first victim for
McNabb and company on Sunday. 5000"...
Edgie
Kokoski
(WUNH-NH):
"I don't really understand the political conventions
that happen each election year. They are just a four day
marathon of boring speeches saying the same thing ('Our
guy is great, your guy sucks'), and building
anticipation for the well known outcome that Candidate X
is the nominee. Although I'm sure that the host city's
economy benefits greatly from the convention, I can't
help but wonder if all of the time, money, and manpower
could be spent in a better way. Imagine that each of the
65,000 people who went to Barack Obama speech
gave blood to the Red Cross instead. Imagine if
those 65,000 people went to a city and picked up trash
or helped to build low income housing. It just strikes
me as odd that so much energy is expended at these
conventions to talk about change, but they accomplish
little more than stating the obvious.
Thank God that football is starting for real this
week. My beloved Giants kick things off Thursday
night to defend their Super Bowl title. I've had
a lot of fun this past week tormenting my friends who
are Pats fans after they lost their last
preseason game to the G-Men. I've asked several
of them if
New
England
is
planning on making 2008 a 'Totally Defeated Season'
after going 0-4 in the fake games. Of course I think the
Pats will be competitive this year, but I'm getting
vibes that the dynasty may be over. I secured a pair of
tickets to Giants Stadium this past week to sit in the
third tier later this month. At $180.00 each, they'd
better come with a bottle of
Champagne and a 6 foot hero sandwich.
Speaking of football, I wouldn't recommend trying to
make any heroic catches in a backyard game. While trying
to catch a punted football earlier this week, I took my
eye off the ball for a split second to avoid running
into a stone wall. The result was a direct hit to my
left hand ring finger. You can see the results in the
attached photo (not for the squeamish). But after a
scant 2.5 hours in the Emergency Room, my finger was
're-located' and I'm already on the mend. (The finger is
straight now, but is about the same shade as
Grimace)"...
