Cypress Hill
is back in the studio wrapping up its first new album
since 2004, with hopes to release it in the fall on
Suburban Noize Records. "We're mixing right now,"
says B-Real, who just released his first solo
album, "Smoke N Mirrors.". He describes the group's new
music as "gritty. It's aggressive. It's like Hip-Hop
straight-up. We just felt like we needed to go back to
that raw, gritty Hip-Hop sound but try to find a way to
bridge it with what's going on now." B-Real says the
as-yet-untitled album will have input from pals
Everlast, Evidence and The Alchemist,
but he didn't anticipate many other guests. "We don't
really do a lot of collaborations in Cypress. We keep it
in house." The group members have been mostly working
on their own projects since 2004's "Til Death Do Us
Part" and a split with Columbia Records, their
longtime label home...

Arash's
debut album, "Transcripted Thoughts" independently
released through SoFull Entertainment, now has
two #1 singles that has charted: "Howudoin?" and "Rise."
The album is a cross of Marvin Gaye meets Mos
Def and is reminiscent of the sound of the Golden
Era of Hip-Hop. If you like quality music, then this
album is for you.
On that note, for a limited time, Arash is posting the
album on his dj website
http://www.shammydee.com for free download.
You need to register to become a member (if you haven't
already, only takes 2 minutes) and you'll find the
members link where you can download and enjoy the

you’ve lived in LA for any length of time, you’ve bumped
him in your ride on a Friday night. He’s worked at your
favorite radio stations - Power 106 and 100.3

They’ve called him the “Hardest Working DJ on the West

the rumors are true. Unfortunately, they are. DJ Hideo

Edgie
Kokoski
(WUNH-NH): "Just when I was starting to feel bad
about the perpetual onslaught of bad weather here in New
England, and the seemingly insurmountable pile of work
at my office, along comes a story about Coolio to make
my life look better by comparison courtesy of
www.allhiphop.com.
To summarize, Coolio, who is now 45 years old,
was in LAX when a screener caught him with crack and a
crack pipe. Now he's facing up to three years in prison.
The funny back story is the fact that recently Coolio
was performing at a University in England when he
attempted to crowd surf. The crowd let him fall right on
a woman. While he was on the ground, the crowd began
robbing Coolio of his bandana, glasses, and shoes! You
know that you are really past your prime when your own
fans start robbing you at your concert. To top it all
off, Coolio recently appeared as a cast member on the UK
version of "Big Brother". That might be the most
embarrassing part of all...
I'm not sure which is worse, Rihanna going back
to Chris Brown or T.I. hosting a drive for
people to turn in unregistered guns. Both just seem so
wrong.
Oprah says that "Chris Brown will hit you again".
I'm not sure that is true Oprah, but I am sure that
Chris Brown will never have a hit again.
I hear that Busta Rhymes new album is called
"Back On My Bullsh!t". I guess I just don't understand
the "Back" part.
Dear XXL, one quick question: members of
The Diplomats on the cover two months in a row?
Seriously? It's not 2002 anymore. Congratulations on
officially becoming "The Source". Now if
they would only do a 50 Cent cover/feature. Oh
wait"...
DJ
Sage (CFRO-Vancouver,
Canada): "We had a jam packed show this week with
lots of interviews and of course we reminisced over the
Notorious BIG! We kicked off it with a double
shot from Keelay & Zaire's new album, “Ridin'
High” out now on MYX Music Label. This talented
producer duo comes with it already releasing singles
“Alright”, “Cali 2 NY”, “The Times”, “Addicts For Real”,
but in typical double shot fashion we delve into the
newness playing unheard album cuts.
www.myspace.com/keelayandzairepresentridinhigh
We talked with DL Incognito about his 3rd Juno
nomination, Western Canadian tour dates (check out
www.myspace.com/dlincognito for all the dates), and
about the new album in the works “Someday Is Less Than A
Second Away”. DL and Techtwelve have a dope live
show not to be missed, so…don’t sleep!
The homie DJ B. Mello & Draze called in
from the 206 to talk about this next level project they
are working on called “Mixtape Movies”. They are
coupling video footage and audio together. The first
single, Draze, ponders the question what if Biggie came
back for one day what would he say and do. I know crazy
and I am still rocking cassettes and no twitter. Hahaha.
Peep the site
www.mixtapemovies.com
We also aired a dope interview with Canadian superstar
K-OS talking about his creative process,
bi-coastal living, a girl named Candice, and of
course the upcoming album “Yes!” dropping March 31! We
will definitely be playing more tracks as the album
release nears; I can’t
wait to hear the track with Saukrates!

Nate
Abney
(WKDU-Philly): "Well spring is in the air. I am
looking forward to warmer weather and no snow. Penn
Relays is approaching next month and that is always
a fun time of the year in Philly for sure. The playoffs
for hockey and basketball are getting close so here's to
hoping there is another parade down Broad street. Some
good music has come my way so thus far 09 is looking
better than 08 in that regards. So keep the hits
coming"...
Chill
Will

D-Tragic
(805HipHop.com): "On 3/21/09 we will be hosting
the “STOP THE VIOLENCE MOVEMENT” in Ventura w/
KRS-1. This is a national tour that will be stopping
in the 805 for a 1 Night only. Check the info:
Nearly 20 years after KRS-1 first gathered some of the
hottest MCs in the game for the monumental “Self
Destruction” posse cut, KRS-One has announced the
re-launch of his Stop the Violence Movement. Described
as a “multi-dimensional and long-term movement,” the
Stop the Violence 2007 campaign will utilize public
service announcements from well known artists urging
young people to help bring an end to violence in their
communities. The spots will also provide a platform for
artists with controversial material to address the
subject matter of their work and provide a balance to
the often violent and misogynistic images they put
forth. Some artists who have already signed on to
produce PSA’s include Lil Wayne, Ludacris, 50 Cent,
Immortal Technique and Doug E. Fresh. “We
will have an ongoing presence with celebrity audio and
visual PSAs, lectures, youth programs, a CD- soundtrack
and film,” KRS explains. “A new ‘Stop the Violence’ Hip
Hop anthem is in the works.” Back in 1989, KRS and his
Boogie Down Productions crew organized the first
incarnation of the Movement, bringing together artists
such as Chuck D, MC Lyte, Kool Moe Dee and
D-Nice for the song and video “Self Destruction,” in
response to the rise in black on black violence. For
more information on the Stop the Violence Movement 2007
and to hear a sample PSA, visit

Nesto
(WODU-VA):
"What's up people? VA weather is playing tricks on
me for real. One week it's snowing, the next its in the
high 60's to 70's, this week anywhere from mid 50's to
70's. I see some people getting sick from this. Quick
question for people, how do you feel Obama is
doing so far? I ask this because people I work with are
straight dogging him out any chance they get. Granted
they are die hard republicans, but I think they are
going a little overboard with it. Everyone has their own
opinions though"...
