The Los
Angeles Lakers have won their 16th NBA
championship, dramatically rallying from a
fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Boston Celtics
83-79 Thursday night in Game 7 of the NBA finals. The
Los Angeles Lakers, playing from behind for most of
Game 7, surged in the final minutes to defeat the Boston
Celtics
and capture the N.B.A. title for the second consecutive
season and the 16th time in their history.
In a game marked by its physical play, the Lakers and
Kobe Bryant (see photo above), who struggled from
the field, rallied late in the fourth quarter and then
held on to win. The Celtics dominated through three and
a half quarters but watched the championship slip away
in the final minutes...

make sure that you all had a copy of my newest single
"Shareware". I also wanted to let you know that I will

The beats are being provided by a variety of producers
with a variety of production styles from all across the
world. So in a sense they are mini original songs. If
you know any producers who may be interested, let me
know or forward my information to them. Below are the
download links & youtube video links for the first 2.

Rap
Attack takes a "WHAT'S UPPER" look this week with:
Chill
Will
(WCBN-MI):
"What's up Fam? Had another great week, with a lot of
new albums dropping. Can't wait to see how the quality
of the albums compare to the sales. Cause numbers don't
always mean better and we've seen that a lot lately. A
few of my favorite shows are starting this month, True
Blood, Hung and Leverage. Can't wait!!!! Well shout out
to everyone I kicked it with at the two new spots in
town, Savoy and Smarty Cat's. Dope venue's and great
staffs so you can't beat it. For more information about

Jason-D
(RadioBoise.org): "Extra large birthday shout
outs to Jessica (Co-Sign) and Papa D
(Old Mafugga Promo). I hope you both had an
excellent born day and that Papa D didn't break a hip.
My favorite "underground shit right that you might not
have heard of" is Kool Sphere's new cd called "Integritty".
Sphere is part of the group Verbal Threat that
had the DJ Premier produced "Reality Check" last
year. He's also a pretty well known NY graff writer. The
whole cd is on that East Coast boom bap vibe. A couple
good features including an energized sounding AZ.
Peep it on itunes to sample some of the songs. We
featured a few tracks from the album during the past two
weeks"...
DJ
Sage (CFRO-Vancouver,
BC): "We got right into the tunes tonight by featuring
what is perhaps the most anticipated Canadian Hip-Hop
album of all time, Drake’s “Thank Me Later”. Say
what you will about Drake, but he has been doing it
extra big with the likes of Saukrates, Jay-Z, Lil'
Wayne, Young Jeezy, and plenty more. It's good to
see a Canadian artists getting worldwide attention like
he is. It also wouldn't hurt to support the album
legally so Canadian music can get that shine in the US!
We also pulled off a 1st for us here at the Urban
Renewal Project by doing an interview with 2
artists, one in-studio and one over the phone! We had
Vancouver's Fallan Soldier in the spot while we
linked up with Teekay (of Dragon Fli Empire)
on the line from Calgary. Teekay & Fallan Soldier are
embarking on the Move The Mountains tour that seeks to
bridge the gap between artists in Western Canada. The
tour is making stops in Nanaimo (Spice Lounge), Victoria
(Lucky Bar) and
Vancouver (The Cobalt - which, by the way, is no longer
a metal bar) on the 17t, 18th and 19th, respectively.
You can check out Fallan Soldier online at
www.Facebook.com/FallanSoldier ,
www.MySpace.com/FallanSoldier and
www.Twitter.com/@FallanSoldier . Teekay
and the Dragon Fli Empire can be reached online at
www.Facebook.com/DragonFliEmpire
and
www.Twitter.com/@TeekayDFE . Don't sleep
on this top-notch Western Canadian talent!
We got into a gamut of music, including tracks from
8thW1, Dragon Fli Empire, Fallan Soldier, Nas &
Damian Marley, Canibus, Nikki Lynette, Drake, and
plenty more... make sure you check out the podcast
shortly, which will be available on
www.URPRadio.Podomatic.com...
Shareef
Abdulluh
(WRFL-KY):
"Last weekend on the show we had the ultra-talented
producer Tzarizm of the Florida duo The Heart
& Brain. This brother show & proves that he is a
true student of the art of boom bap on the duo's new
album, "Mbodiment." Definitely one of the best projects
to come out this year! In the mix this week we add the
new single by Pigeon Hole, two members from
Canada's formidable Sweatshop Union. Their new
joint "Light Show" is blessed by fellow Canadian D-Sisive,
who adds another layer of dopeness to the butta track!
Also, we added the new single by Everliven Sound,
who is joined by Brick City's El Da Sensei on the
lively "Elements," the mysterious Dark Monk and
Mobonix spit lyrical warfare over a Jake One
banger on "Real Terror," and lastly we have an
outstanding remix of "Tightrope" by the eccentric
Janelle Monae which features ridiculous verses from
B.o.B and Lupe Fiasco...this kills the
original hands down! I'm out until next time...as-salaam
alakium!!"...
Kazzeo
(KHDC-CA):
"I was gonna do a detailed report about the VH1
Hip Honors but there's no point. That show jumped the
shark. Period. The A-Team movie was pretty good.
I give it a thumbs up or, in the reference to the
classic movie "Hollywood Shuffle", I give it a "high
five". True Blood started last weekend and it looks like
another great season. I'm diggin' the Werewolve's
angle"...
DJ
Luicidal (KSJS-CA): "Some of you have not
heard from me in a while. Here is why. For the past
couple weeks I had my laptop hard drive completely crash
on me. I was without a laptop for two weeks and almost
lost 500 gigs of music, fortunately I was able to save
it. Now my laptop is rebuilt and better than ever.
Couple days after that I lost my iPhone at a club
event. In hopes of finding it, I stayed without a phone
for several weeks as well. It never surfaced. Now I am
the proud owner of a Nokia 2220 lol, I'm rockin'
that until the iPhone 4 drops on the 24th. I almost
ended up on the XXL's milk carton, but now I am back and
continuing to report. In Hip Hop news, this past Friday
I had
Richmond,
CA emcee Locksmith on my radio show Illphonics.
This guy is one of the illest emcees out of the Bay
Area. He joined us for Freestyle Fridays and dropped
some crazy bars along with Megabusive, Sway-D,
and Frank Nitti. I will have the audio up on my
blog soon. You can also check for him on the new Wake Up
Show Anthem 2010. Plenty of shows this week in
San Jose! San Francisco
rappers Andre Nickatina and San Quinn will
be performing in downtown San Jose on Wednesday night.
Thursday, I will be rockin the decks at a show in Santa
Clara featuring The Grouch of Living Legends,
Opio of Hieroglyphics, Z-Man of One Block Radius, and
Equipto of Bored Stiff. Lastly, Saturday I
will be hosting Grind Time's Golden State Bullies 2
event in
San Jose. Plenty of battle emcees will go head to head and we will
also have performances from Joe Cutter, Ex-I, Ghambit,
Madness, and Pariah. Google footage from the
first Golden State Bullies event and get a taste of how
it goes down"...
Jeffrey
Oakes
(WMHB-ME): "What's up? Good news! I will be
maintaining the charts for WMHB for the rest of
the summer as Malcolm will be doing a lot of
traveling and will not always be in contact. But please
work on building a relationship with him as the summer
goes on, he will have full access to the Hip-Hop email
account for WMHB"...
