MTV'S NEXT TWITTER JOCK???  DJ Meddafore

GREEN HORNET Starring Seth Rogan & Jay Chou coming to theaters in Jan 2011

[[  June 28, 2010  ]]

What's Upper?

Hard to believe a year has gone by with the passing away of The King Of Pop. R.I.P. Michael Jackson...

Anyone catch  this years "BET AWARDS 2010?" I gotta give BET their props this year cuz it was off the hook with Chris Brown's Tribute to Michael Jackson, El DeBarge making a surprise appearance singing his classics & still sounding just as good as he did back in the 80's & watching Prince accepting his "BET Lifetime Achievement Award"...

DJBabe's OFFICIAL Newsletter 4
Whew, had to get back on this newsletter thing-a-ma-jig, time to kick more knowledge for the ill-informed out there, the people looking to read some useless jokes & for those who genuinely care about me.. all 3 of you.
First! Let me congratulate everyone who's graduating from any type of school, be it high school, college, med, nail tech, or getting your GED in prison - salute!
I must dedicate a special section to my twin boys Davonte & Deonte who graduated from high school & turned 18 June 22.. I'm not too gangsta to still tell my kids I love them & they still tell me that they love me.. awww...
Now their ass needs a job!

Anyway, the
BET Awards are coming up & the host is Queen Latifah.. Now I like Latifah but so I won't clown on her but let's hope this show doesn't turn into straight buffoonery (again) or even let Justin Beiber perform.
Then again that would be the shit seeing mullet ass Justin crackin' out Baby while Soulja Boy is sitting in the front seat. So it's official that the ex-drug dealer Rick Ross is suing the fake-but-Steve-Harvey-when-he-had-hair-perfect-hairline-and-beard Rick Ross over the use of his name. So is that the reason we're seeing Ricky Rozey more these days? I don't know where I stand on this one, sure Rick No.1 has the real name but he did flood the streets with drugs and destroy a lot of lives - should he be celebrated? Then we have Rick No.2 who wouldn't admit to being a C.O., most likely has one of the most unlikely street lives among the game, but makes fuckin' great music.. But has poor taste in babymamas..

Either way work it out..

Ya boy Waka took another L when he was paid recently with fake money to the amount of $10,000. This dude Waka is like the 2010 Yung Berg, next somebody is gonna cut his dreads off and pass them around like Bergs chain. You'll see everyone on World Star taking pics looking like a rasta man..

You can catch me on www.svmixradio.com every Tuesday with the crew known as The Drama
Queens - now I'm not a Drama Queen, I'm like Bosley from Charlie's Angels.. I'm the dude sitting there surrounded by a bunch of beautiful women & they cook pancakes for me.

So check us out.. www.svmixradio.com  Tuesday 6pm - 8pm..

Thanks to a few friends I should be back on my international tip soon, looking to spread my wings to Japan, Holland, Africa & Jamaica.. and Pittsburgh. Hell, if you've ever been to the Hill District in
Pittsburgh then you'll know know that it looks like a 3rd world country.

Shout out to Adam Favors on his belated birthday, ya'll hit him up and wish him a happy 50th birthday. Oops, he just looks like he's 50.. actually Adam is 19.
One thing that irks me more than a verse from Bizarre (sorry Bizzy LOL) is the fact that Twitter & Facebook has exposed the educational system of our generation and let's just say that a lot of people are dumb as fuck. Now.. should you see any typos in here blame it on the fact it's almost 3am & I'm about as tired as a Kelly Rowland hair-do & I know that some people, myself included, make up words as we have Cyber-Ebonics i.e. cool = kool... alright = aiight.. sometimes we just want to look "kool" while typing/texting.

Then we have the people are who are just as dumb as a bag of rocks that type things as: I was so waisted last night, I don't know weather I can go to work.
If you didn't catch the illness in that sentence you too are dumb as fuck.. yes you
TOO not TO, but TOO..

There is a difference between there, their & they're & 80% of the people reading this always fuck it up..

Maybe I shouldn't take it that serious, but that's from the private school mom paid for 8 years which required me to wear the same fuckin' tight ass, blue knee high pants 5 days a week looking like a nerd ass Gary Coleman walking to school.. See, I be smart now!

Rap Attack takes a "WHAT'S UPPER" look this week with:

DJ Luicidal (KSJS-CA): "Another summer week is upon us and I couldn't feel any better in the Cali sunshine. This week, the Left Coast Live music festival hits downtown San Jose! Left Coast Live features music from all genres including Rock, Electro, Jazz, Hip Hop, and more. I will be rockin several stages the entire weekend, including Nostalgia at Voodoo Lounge on Friday and the Bring It Back stage on Saturday. Check out www.leftcoastlive.com for more info. If you are in the Bay Area, you should definitely come out get some sun and enjoy some great music. That's the hype for this week. Remember, you can always check the KSJS Hip-Hop Myspace and Facebook for direct playlists"...

Shareef Abdullah (WRFL-KY): "Peace...another hot day in the one of the worst places in North Amerikkka, Louisville, KY! 5 hot records got added this week...let's run them down the line. First up, we have some serious heat by one of my favorite new artist, Blacastan. His new single, "Anything Less" is hardcore hip hop aesthetics at it's finest! Secondly, we have a one of kind banger by the 1/3 of the Dilated crew, Rakaa Iriscience. His new heat "Deilah" is straight diesel! The RZA and partner in rhyme Kinetic 9 come seriously correct on the solid, "Dreamin." Ill Bill connects with Raekwon and the underrated Skam2? of Oldworlddisorder on the grade A "Thousands To M's" and rounding things off on the trap tip we have T.I. reasserting himself back on the throne of the south on the keyboard heavy, "Yeah Ya Know." Good looking out to all the promoters who supplied the heat this week...Nes, Papa D, Jessica, Dennis, JJ/Lee...i'm out until next time...peace & blessings to the hip hop global fam!

DJ Sage (CFRO-Vancouver, BC): "We got into a sick Double Shot this week, featuring The Roots new album, "How I Got Over". It was thought that the group wasn't going to be recording after getting the gig as the house band on NBC's Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, but nevertheless, they came through with their 11th studio album, available today courtesy of OkayPlayer. Dope album throughout, with some quality features from the like of Phonte, John Legend, Blu, Dice Raw and many more. Get this album!

We were then joined Georgia lyricist, 4-Ize. This southern rhyme-sayer has been on the scene for a minute, having collaborated with Ludacris, De La Soul, and Senor Kaos to name few. We discussed his recent and upcoming projects, the video for "Rollin' Like A G", which is due out within a month, and more! Check out 4-Ize at www.4ize.com for all the latest from the man, as well as mixtape downloads!
As if that wasn't enough, we were also joined by Rakaa Iriscience from the grade-A group, Dilated Peoples. He's got a solo project due out on July 20, 2010 called "Crown Of Thorns" with features from KRS-One, Evidence, Chali 2Na, and more, plus production from Alchemist, El-P, Babu, !llmind and more. We discussed his creative process in terms of working on a solo project for the first time, upcoming singles and plenty more so make sure you eardrum the interview! Check Rakaa out at www.DilatedPeoples.com  and on Twitter at www.Twitter.com/TheRealRakaa!

Very sick show this week, so you're gonna wanna get on that podcast which will be up very shortly on www.URPRadio.Podomatic.com! Crazy tunes from the RZA, Rakaa and the Dilated Peoples, Nikki Lynette f/
GLC, 4-Ize, Matt Brevner, Eminem & Slaugherhouse so we got three words for ya: DO NOT SLEEP!"...

Kazzeo (KHDC-CA): "Why am I being asked to add a record that I've had for over 2 years?

How does breaking windows, assaulting fans of the other team, & setting fire to cars have anything to do with your team winning the championship?
Where the hell is Lady Gaga from and can she please go back immediately?
What is the deal with independent artists not caring how their records are doing with college dj's?

When did "Futbol" become more popular than "Football" in this country?
I await any answers you may have to these questions"...

Jeffrey Oakes (WMHB-ME): "What's up?  Good news! I will be maintaining the charts for WMHB for the rest of the summer as Malcolm will be doing a lot of traveling and will not always be in contact. But please work on building a relationship with him as the summer goes on, he will have full access to the Hip-Hop email account for WMHB"...

Kevin Sakoda (KSPC-CA): "If you're not in the LA-area, you can catch the show live (via iTunes) every Saturday, 5-7PM (west-coast time): http://www.kspc.org/popup.html   You can also find archived playlists and download links 24/7: http://blogs.myspace.com/kevsakoda   Enjoy!"...

D-Tragic (805HipHop.com): "Oh and just started the new show on air 91.9FM – KCSB Santa Barbara “WORD ON THE STREETS RADIO” Thursdays 4-6 Also First Friday of Month 8-10PM “WORD ON THE STREETS RADIO” www.KCSB.org  "...
