Welcome
to RAP ATTACK our new Mixtape Reporter,
Michael "DJ Emmo" Ogunmoyin a man of
many trades and knows exactly what it means to be a jack
of all trades and a master of none. He tells people he's
a "professional scatter-brain" from doing so many things
at one time and how hard it is to focus on just one.
Emmo's
mother is from Dominica (Virgin Islands/Carribean) & his
father is from
Nigeria
(West Africa) so they settled in Brooklyn raising 6 kids
all born and raised in
Kings County's
Flatbush section.
DJ Emmo
is the founder and creative force behind brands such as
CajoCommunications.com, ThundaGround and
most recently ALLisONE, a gift & convenience shop
in Passaic, NJ (20 mins. from Time Square/42nd St),
serving as a new home to independent entrepreneurs with
a site launching on Sept. 11th, 2010. Emmo is a firm
believer of action speaking louder than words and he
showcases his actions on a monthly basis delivering
conceptual street mixtapes on and offline. He has
released & executive produced some talented underground
Hip-Hop albums/artists, most recently the digital
full-length album by Spier1200 & Oktober called
"Pirate Radio" (visit the cajo website for catalog
2002-present). DJ Emmo is also known for showcasing
legendary events and conducting interviews for TGTV
(ThundaGroundTV) featuring some of the icons
of music culture including The GodFathers of HipHop
Music & Culture, DJ Kool Herc, DJ Afrika
Bambaataa, KRS One and many more. Emmo feels
if he delivers quality over quantity things will remain
positive, which is balance, especially with so many
negative forces around us. Be on the lookout for new
releases, gifted artists, special events & projects
coming soon. DJ Emmo's mission is to help others
(especially the kids) by spreading knowledge, peace and
love through positive creative energy & expression. Read

A MESSAGE FROM DJ AARON
WADE (djaaronwade@yahoo.com):
"Been a while since you've heard from me (for a lot of
you). Since I retired my FM radio show in
Milwaukee,
I've been career and family focused.
BUT... i just can't stay away! I've been given this cool
opportunity, and I jumped on it. I'm now the Program
Director for "Underground Hip Hop" on
www.slacker.com.
Hopefully you all know what slacker is... if you don't,
in short, it's internet radio (like pandora or aol) and
it has a sweet mobile app available for all smartphones.
I recently linked up w/ the head folks in San Diego,
explained my ideas on the station, and BAM! I'm
programming this stellar station!
Please go to www.slacker.com and look under "hip hop" to
find the station. It just went live tonight. PLEASE
PLEASE send me all your new singles for consideration,
as I can add songs and change the rotation on the
station at ANY TIME on my own time and 100% at my own
discretion.
YOU KNOW HOW I DO - nothing but HEAT! I built the
station on the foundation of that classic boom-bap rap
sound... that's what it's all about.
So please make sure you send me the hot mp3's. This is
worldwide, and I spent hours and hours and hours
preparing it for the debut. The station is comprised of
the best 450 songs (not mainstream) that i could come up
with... 80's, 90's, 99-09, and current.
Thank you in advance for working with me and checking
out this dope ass new station!"...

Rap
Attack takes a "WHAT'S UPPER" look this week with:
DJ
LUICIDAL (KSJS-CA): "Been a busy week here in
San Jose. Last week I rocked the stage with Tha Dogg
Pound at Voodoo Lounge in downtown San Jose along
with DLabrie and Rey Resurreccion. Dogg
Pound performed all the classics as well as some new
joints from their forthcoming album "100 Ways."
Yesterday, Scarub and Very of Afro Classics
and Living Legends performed at our open mic
even The Cypher. Tonight we bring the Dubstep trio
Truth out to San Jose all the way from New Zeland to rock some grimey Dubstep at South Bay Dub
Massive. Tomorrow we have a
San Jose
local scene event called Nostalgia featuring all the
best DJ's from San Jose. Saturday E-40 brings his
Bay Area slaps to downtown
San Jose.
Next week, I will be sharing the stage with Lucky
Lucianni and Z-Man on Thursday night, and
DJing with the one and only G-Funk Era king Warren G
on Friday. We stay grinding out here. If you need to
get a hold of me, please feel free to send me a text. I
will get back to you faster than a phone call since I am
usually in meetings or gigs"...
DJ
SAGE (CFRO-Vancouver,
BC): "We kicked it off once again by featuring what is
reportedly
Slum
Village's
final studio album. The group has had its fair share of
hardship over the years, losing the legendary producer
J. Dilla in February of 2006, and Baatin in
July of 2009. Nonetheless, they have written the group's
final chapter with Villa Manifesto. Both Baatin and
Dilla make posthumous appearances on this very good
album that deserves to be supported. Make sure you check
this disc out or you will be stuck regretting not
knowing what's what!
DJ Quickie Mart was first up to bat tonight,
chatting with us live from
New
Orleans. The producer/DJ has been making big moves
bouncing back and forth from NO to LA, working with
Freddie Gibbs, Gotham Green and many more but
took the time out of his schedule to chop it up with us!
We discussed the struggles facing New Orleans in the
light of the BP oil spill, old school samples, the Haze
series and more! Check out The Haze Diaries Vol. 3 with
Gotham Green and keep up with Quickie Mart at
www.MySpace.com/QuickieMart and
www.DJQuickieMart.com.
We were then joined by Lee, one half of the
Vancouver duo, Pigeon Hole. They have just
recently released Age Like Astronauts, which is a great
album that should not be slept on. If you are a fan of
the Sweatshop Union (which Pigeon Hole are a part
of), you will love this LP. We discussed the group's
production process, touring and more! Make sure you
check out the album ASAP and stay on top of things by
visiting
www.MySpace.com/PigeonHoleMusic or their
URBnet page!
We also got into a ton of tunes tonight, including
material from Kooley High, Blaq Poet, LL Cool J, The
Kid Daytona, Slum Village, Gotham Green & Quickie
Mart, Pigeon Hole and tons more. Don't miss this one!
Look out for the podcast very shortly, we will have the
podcast available VERY shortly on
www.URPRadio.Blogspot.com and
www.URPRadio.Podomatic.com...

Please take time to review "The Obama Deception"
and pass on the word about the new world order and their
plans to make our society a bunch of robots. Respect:

Nate
Abney
(WKDU-PA):
"Well a getaway that much needed in Atl was taken last
week. I got up with some family members new and old and
learned some real history regarding my fam in Madison,
Georgia. It was a real good experience, hot as ever but
where has it not been this summer. Loving the Roots
and Big Boi albums. Loving the summer lineup
of shows coming to Philly at the Dell East too. Lady
T and Keith Sweat ( do I want to be 10 again
or what), The O'Jays( Sound of Philly legends).
Brian Mcknight and Kindred ( more water
and t-shirt selling in North Philly for sure). The
Phils on the comeback and that's all this week
folks"...
