Upper?
The NY Giants will face the New England
Patriots in the Super Bowl a rematch of their
meeting in the N.F.L.’s title game four years ago…
Long-Time Penn State Coach, Joe Paterno,
Dies at 85. Joe Paterno, whose teams won more games than
any other major-college football coach, who became the
face of Penn State University and a symbol of integrity
in collegiate athletics only to be fired during the 2011
season amid a child sexual-abuse scandal that
reverberated throughout the nation, died Sunday. He was
85…
Etta James,
Powerful Voice Behind ‘At Last,’ Dies at 73. Etta James,
whose powerful, versatile and emotionally direct voice
could enliven the raunchiest blues as well as the
subtlest love songs, most indelibly in her signature
hit, “At Last,” died Friday morning in Riverside, Calif.
She was 73. Her manager, Lupe De Leon, told The
Associated Press that the cause was complications of
leukemia…

Rap Attack takes a "WHAT'S UPPER" look this week with:
Rowbot
(KSJS-CA): “Mr. Timtastic of 90.5 KSJS
conducted a radio interview on air with Kero One
out of San Francisco on his show, "TRL" on 1/16/12.
Things
that were discussed included new music, remixing classic
hip-hop joints, the recent compilation of previous
albums called "The Catch Up", his upcoming shows in
South Korea and Japan, what it means to go back to his
roots, hip-hop in Asia, language barriers in other
countries, and future collaborations.

Also, our media team lead by Strong Arm, recently
released our first episode of a monthly series we call
#Bars with emcee, Sahtyre. You can view the video
below, and the track is our station's selected track of
the week, the clean version is attached. #bars will drop
on a monthly basis, every third tuesday of the month.

Furthermore, I am continuing to work on raising funds
for our new turntables & mixer for our department-- I
felt at this point, the most efficient way to do that
would be to write grant letters which I am currently
working on. If you have any contacts that you suggest we
get in touch with for this matter, I'd greatly
appreciate it if you would be able to lead me in the
right direction! Or, if you know some good companies/
organizations I can hit up that issue grants, that would
be much appreciated as well. Also, my team will be
attending shows this weekend starring Theophilus
London and Wu-Tang-- we're all very excited
to see these acts!
Come April, we will be hosting a block party here in our
hometown of San Jose-- I am having all KSJS Urban DJ's
involved, so this will be our group project. I've linked
up with a great promoter from here in The Bay, and we're
looking to book some well known artists-- those acts
will be announced once they are confirmed. More details
to come soon!”…
DJ Chill Will
(WCBN-MI): “Happy New Year 2012 that is. And it
started off with a bang here with some dope Hip Hop/Rap
shows. But I have to say the most crazy and wildest show
had to be the Machine Gun Kelly show. I've never
seen such wild and naked people in my life at a show. I
was wondering if someone told them that was the dress
code for the night!!! And what you seen on Youtube
can't even tell you what was really going on. Well 2012
if you continues like this, it's gonna be a helluva
year. Lol!!!! For more information about me DJ Chill

DJ Kazzeo
(KHDC-CA): “I want to thank everyone who reached
out via Facebook, Twitter, email, text, &
Myspace (yeah I'm still on there too) etc. and
wished me a Happy Birthday. I'm officially a "40
Something". LMAO. And, as you can imagine, I'm
recovering from some serious celebrating. Shout out to
Oakland's own Mac Reem (see photo above) for
stopping by the show last week”…
