What's upper! It is so good to be back. A very happy &
belated X'Mas & New Years... By the time you read this,
I'll just be coming back from my trip from my hometown
of Seattle. Talk about a welcome home Nasty-Nes
party, my right hand man, Gene Dexter outta
CrazyPinoy.com & the heads from Noc on Wood
made my trip back home one worth treasuring fo'
life! I will always represent the "206" & thank you to
my fam & friends for being there for me... A big THANK
YOU goes out to KHDC's DJ Kazzeo outta
Salinas, Cali for keepin' RapAttackLives.com
on point over the past 3 1/2 months. The DJ's &
Record Label Reps have been biggin' up Kazzeo on a job
well done. Kazzeo is officially our Asst. Rap Editor
& will be playing a major role with Rap
Attack. I hope you like the new look of Rap
Attack & coming soon more new surprises online as we
take this site to the next level & increase the
awareness of college rap radio, internet hip-hop shows &
mixtape DJ's. Now that all that wack drama I had to
undergo is behind me, it's time for me to move forward
with my life & with the good Lord Jesus Christ
leading my path, I'm so excited to accomplish my dreams
once again. I will continue to work even harder now to
get the respect from the labels by improving our record
service & more. I've revamped the panel of Rap Attack
reporters once again. I've got to keep this panel
tight & exclusive so what you are playing & adding
weekly will really represent what's breaking in your
market! I've dropped a handful of reporters & I've added
a handful of reporters. I'd like to welcome to my panel:
Benny Ben (WDBM/MI), Peter Rosenberg
(WMUC/MD), Brian Coulombe aka
DJ Wicked (WBRS/MA), Darren Beckford
(KUCR/CA), Nick Huff aka DJ
Goodtimez (KOXY/CA) & George Metellus
takes over Ms Josie's spot at WVUM in
Miami. Peep out on our site "Rap Attack's Radio,
Internet & MixTape" panel to see the complete
roster on who now reports to RapAttackLives.com.
Welcome aboard!... I also plan to pursue my acting
career 110%. Yes, there is life after "House Party 4" &
"Kung Pow! Enter The Fist." So get ready Hollywood,
cause this Crazy Pinoy's ready to make
some BIG noise!... Being gone for the past 4 months has
me so out of the loop when it comes to what's poppin' on
the new music tip. I've had about a week to kinda catch
up, so bare with me over the next 2 weeks as I slowly
but surely come correct, aiight?... I got the bad news
that the historic D&D Recording Studios is
shutting their doors for good. As you know, that was
Premier's home away from home as hundreds of classic
beats were recorded at D&D. During these hard times
since 9/11, it has finally caught up with the D&D
Studios. The label will continue to put out records as
the label moves to their new location in Brooklyn.
Meantime I have to say thank you to the D&D owner's
Doug & Dave for always keepin' their welcome
mat opened to me & my panel over the past few years.
We've thrown a few parties there for my panel of
dedicated dj's & the D&D posse always made it very
hospitable for us. I wish the record label side of D&D
much success as they get ready to drop the new Craig
G album "This Is Now!!!" in April... I'm seeing a
big underground buzz with the new Napalm single
"My Life" featuring Pusha T from the Clipse
(Napalm Ent). If you haven't been laced yet, make it
a priority to add this to your crates by calling
Jo-Jo from Bryan Farrish Radio Promotions at
(818) 905-8038 or hit her up online at:
JOJO@RADIO-MEDIA.COM. Tell em, Rap Attack
sent ya... Our dawg, Res outta KVCU in
Boulder, CO is keeping busy on the promotional tip with
the hot new tracks by Procussions. Damian
Rodriguez from KGNU in Ft. Collins, CO is
already all over the track "Leave Her Alone" & he's
puttin' a BIG PICK HIT behind this joint. You can holla
at Res for copies at (626) 255-0311 or online at:
RES@THEPROCUSSIONS.COM... Sonny D is
now handling all the Radio Promotional duties at
Priority Records. Lookout for the new Roscoe
album to drop soon. Right about now, they are all
hyped up about the debut joint from Chingy who's
outta the Ludacris' Disturbing The Peace posse,
"Right Thurr." This southern bounce track is a sure shot
winner with a strong hook that'll rock your airwaves &
keep the club's dance floors packed! Holla at Sonny at
(323) 871-5396... I'll be meeting with the big boss at
Interscope this week, Kelly Woo &
get that label on point with servicing our DJ's. So stay
tuned. That 8 Mile DVD is off tha heezy. Congrats to
Eminem for winning an Academy Award for the
soundtrack. The movie itself deserves big props. Of
course it's not a secret but 50 Cent is the
biggest thing out now! I remember him from years back
when he was a guest on our conference call & to see him
come up in a big way is a good thing!... Now that Bad
Boy Records has inked a deal with Universal,
lookout for the new Loon joint featuring Kelis
with "How You Want That" droppin' on April 7th. Ish
is dope & you can get laced by hollerin' at Jen
Boogie online at"
JENNIFER.NORWOOD@UMUSIC.COM. Steve Rifkind's
back in effect with his new label deal with SRC/Universal.
Watch out for his debut release from David Banner
featuring Lil' Flip "Like A Pimp." This track is
already makin' a big underground buzz & if you need to
be laced, holla at my dawg Cleavon at:
CLEAVON.SHULER@UMUSIC.COM ... I told you way
back before Sean Paul released "Gimme The Light"
(VP/Atlantic) that this artist was gonna be the next
thing to break out big! Was I correct? You can thank our
panel for opening the doors for Sean Paul by leading
the way in breaking his music. Sean Paul is now makin'
so much noise with "Get Busy" & his latest album. Big
ups to Sean Paul & to everyone who took a chance in
breakin' his ish first... Virgin has a new artist
on the R&B tip that you need to look out for by Dwele.
He's done tracks with Slum Village & his debut
cut "Find A Way" is a fa' sho hit. Don't sleep on this.
Gang Starr's album "The Ownerz" will be droppin'
in early May. I want to thank Aaron outta Virgin
for inviting me to Gang Starr's after party. The place
was packed & it was cool runnin' into Guru
again... Condolences goes out to the friends & family of
Marc Benesh from Artist Direct & to 3rd
Rail outta Chicago's WNUR/WCRX who's
dad passed away... Congratulations to Mii Mii &
Suspens on the birth of their first baby boy &
also to Seattle's own DJ Topspin on the birth of
his first born!... DJ Solo from WECI in
Richmond, IN recently cut the cake & has a baby on the
way! You go homeboyeeeee... Finally, I want to
personally thank the many of you who kept me in your
prayers, donated money & wrote me while I was goin' thru
my personal ordeal. It's people like you who I truly
feel blessed to say are my family. Thank you again from
my heart...
Our dawg4life, Nathan Sheard exits Epic
Records. I want to personally thank him on behalf of
our entire panel for always lookin' out for us these
past years. Nathan will be bouncing back in the biz soon
& wherever he goes, we've got his back! You can now
