What's upper! Last weeks issue of Rap Attack
I made a big boo boo in my column so I'ma make the
correction now. I mistakenly thought that Kate Erwin
formerly of WKNC in
Raleigh,
N. Carolina & Kate Livingston of WOZQ in
Northampton, MA. were the same person. hey are not!!!
Sorry for the confusion. Kate Livingston is the
Hip-Hop Director at WOZQ in
Northampton,
MA
for over the last two years which is “The only
all-female Hip-Hop department in college radio!” She’s
also promoting the debut joint by Serengeti
“Dirty Flamingo” (F5 Records) produced by DJ Crucial. You
can holla at Kate at (614) 668-7390 or online at:
SIXONESCIENCE@HOTMAIL.COM. Tell her
Rap Attack sent ya… Mixtape reporter, Nick
Nack outta
Austin, TX has been keeping busy every week with
Austin'

crowd features a different dj & live instruments. Nick
Nack needs record label support from both the indy's &
major labels with promotional giveways to pass out at
this event. Please help Nick Nack out by sending him

Fiona B.
from
the Bloom Effect has informed me that Ice-T's
Final Level new deal with Elis Pecheco &
Mickey Bentson (managers of Fat Joe) has inked a
distribution deal with Neil Levine's P.A.L./Ryko
distribution. His first release "Pimpin' 101" soundtrack
drops on June 15th. For more info you can contact Fiona
B. at (917) 330-0347... Old school heads may remember
the classic "All Rappers Give Up" by Black By Demand
on Tommy Boy Records. Chris Moore aka
CJ Moore of Black By Demand is making his
comeback in 2003 with "Big Things" b/w "Just Getting
Warm" (Biggamen Records). After all these years, I have
to admit CJ Moore still has his skillz on lockdown with
his new release. For more info, you can contact our dawg
Regginold Jolly from NY's WDFH at (914)
659-2065... Thump Records has a release that I
think's gonna pop off both in the clubs & on radio by
their artist Troy Cash with "Rollin On Dubs."
This cut has the potential to be an indy hit that could
blow up with the right support from the dj's who love to
take a chance & break new ish. If you'd like to get
laced, contact Jordon outta Thump at (909)
468-0780... David Banner's "Mississippi" (SRC/Universal)
album is officially out & is selling like crazyyyyyy! As
of last week, over 100,000 units have been sold which is
a great sign of a hit album. His latest single "Like A
Pimp" featuring Lil' Flip is already getting a
lot of radio love. "Cadillac On 22's" is an album cut
bangin' exploring the culture of
Mississippi's
spiritual side & "Might Getcha" is another crunked up
joint that Lil' John has added his magical
production touches to. Guest emcee's on "Missippi" range
from Lil' Jon, Pastor Troy, Lil' Flip, Jazzy
Pha & Too Short. Mississippi's on tha hip-hop
map now so peep it... Trilogy & ESP Media
