What's upper! I've got to extend a big thank you to
Sarinjay Records for throwin' down one of the
phattest record listening parties for the BooYaa
Tribe last Thursday night! It's been a long 13 years
since the Boo Yaa Tribe first released their debut
album "New Funky Nation" (4th & B'dway). Battlecat
who produced their new album "West Koasta Nostra"
was in the house on the ones & two's spinning all the
latest funk flavas. The food was one of my highlights as
their mom made home cooked Samoan Sop-Suey, salmon,
roast pig & corn beef, bbq ribs, boneless chicken & a
wide variety of deserts! Cartoon was in the house
doin' his thing with his tatoo gun & everybody was
having a great time. I ran into a few old school homies,
Sen Dog from Cypress Hill, Frost &
Hen-Gee. Boo Yaa's new single, features Mack
10 on "Bang On" (Sarinjay). The album is bangin'
featuring Eminem & B-Real on "911,"
Kurupt "On Me" & Knoc-Turn'Al "State Of
Emergency." I'm workin' on getting our Rap Attack
panel serviced with the Boo Yaa Tribe's new
single so stay tuned... Ken Marshall formerly
with Interscope Records is back & now employed

DEE@AVATARRECORDS.COM... I just got in my mail
the dvd, "Life I$... The Life & Times Of Todd Shaw
(aka Too Short)" (Grass Roots Ent.). I remember back
in the 80's, one of the very first gigs that we (Sir
Mix-A-Lot) performed at was in Oakland, CA at the
Shrine Theater opening up for a cat named Too Short!
We knew nothin' about him then but remembered his
trademark signature of screamin' the word, "Biyaatch" on
just about all his songs! Plus, I've never seen so many
thugged out men & females like that before either. Too
Short goes down in hip-hop history as one of the O.G.'s
to put west coast hip-hop on the map & this dvd
documentary chronicles this legendary figures rise to
prominence as one of hip-hop's founding pioneers. Lots
of never before seen footage is shown & "Life I$" gives
you an unparalleled glimpse of what life is through the
eyes, music & words of Too Short. Before there was a
MC Hammer, E-40 & a Digital Underground,
remember this, Too Short put the Yay on the map. Big
props to my dawg. It's been a long time homie & congrats
for staying in there all these years...If you're in
