This weeks "Tales From The TapeDecks" review
is from RAP ATTACK's own Mary
Nichols aka DJ Fusion from

Today, we have a dope independent Hip-Hop
talent representing South Carolina on the
mixtape scene, Jim Snooka.
After debuting on Never So Deep Records's
"Darko Effect" album, he's been constantly
on the grind with various mixtapes and
singles that have received recognition from
all over the world from lots of blog and
website love to top rated airplay on various
college and internet radio stations.
With the "Who Killed Kenny? - FuseBox
Radio Edition" mixtape, Jim Snooka shows
a lot of diversity in the songs with his
agressive rhymes and flow, along with
something most Hip-Hop MCs don't seem to
have lately anymore - a sense of humor (just
the phone interludes along are crazy
hilarious, much less the "South Park" TV
series samples tying things together in the
mix).
There's also some high quality production in
the mix given by producer and label head, DJ
Bless. The beats KNOCK hard and Jim
Snooka does not get lost up in the sauce in
the least.
This is a pretty dope project that should at
the very least, serve as some distributor's
and or A&R's cheat sheet of what to actually
look for with a Hip-Hop MC - not just being
able to talk about the street or brag about
various escapades all day, but to be able to
do it WELL in the profession that folks have
chosen as a musician.
