"Conjure Cognac" is the drink, Ludacris is the artist, and both make for one hell of a marketing campaign.  Nobody can say Luda is not a business man.  I have to say I was expecting to hear about the new album, but let’s get it straight right now; this tape is exclusively for Luda’s new business venture called Conjure Cognac.  We do hear about the new album “Battle of the Sexes” a handful of times throughout this mixtape, but the main focus is for the new drink of choice, Conjure Cognac.

This mixtape is definitely for the grown folks with plenty of reference to alcohol, and the ladies, so if you got some young kids running around, you may not want to bump this when they around.  There are a number of tracks on this mixtape that have guest appearances, but some tracks are of other artists that feature Ludacris.  Although I was expecting to hear more about the “Battle of the Sexes” album, Luda placed some joints up here that should hold people over until the real album drops.  Luda knows how to put a nice marketing campaign together, and he pulled in some of his ATL homies to help put out a mixtape to help get the most press for his new Conjure Cognac.  ATL residents Lil Scrappy, Playaz Circle, Shawty Lo, and Ace Hood all got tracks on this mixtape, and all actually feature Luda on the track instead of Luda featuring them.  Shawty Lo’s track “Atlanta, GA” is one of the standout tracks, as is Letoya’s “Regret”, which is already holding it down on the radio now.  There’s a treat on this album after the Outro.  I’m not going to say who’s on the track, but let’s say they some “Cool Kids”, and “Underground Kingz”, and have “Game.”

Everyone is not going to like this mixtape, and some may be confused that it’s not focused on the new album “Battle of the Sexes”, but Luda knew exactly what he was doing when he put this together.  When you have been in the game as long as Luda, and have branched out into other business ventures you learn how to use your clout, and past successes to capitalize on new ventures and get the most out of promotional tools.  This mixtape will get people curious about the new Conjure Cognac, and those that like to drink Cognac will almost certainly give it a try.  If you drink then check for the new Cognac at a local liquor store, strip club, or bar near you, and check for Luda’s new album “Battle of the Sexes” in March.
